This past summer, I got my very own kitten. Like the vets said, I waited until he was a little older than six months to get him declawed. It was a simple procedure, so I left my kitten with them and went out of town that morning. Midday, I got a call from the vet saying my kitten had passed away. As I hung up the phone, I got another family member to call back and notify the staff that we would be coming to pick up my kitten for a proper burial. Arriving just before closing time, I went up to the desk. The receptionist looked thoroughly annoyed that we came in right before closing, but quickly changed her demeanor when we told her we were just there to pick up the body of my beautiful kitten. The receptionist then told us to meet her at the back door (this was probably so we would not cause a scene). There, she handed me a cold box which had the word "save" written across one side. When I got home to bury my kitten, I transferred him from the box which seemed more appropriate for his size that we had decorated as a memorial. When I was being explained what happened, I was told that my cat woke up during surgery, so they gave him more anesthesia. They said mine was the first cat they had lost in decades, but as I told people about the situation, more people said they had experienced the same thing. *I am not saying that this clinic is a horrible place to go, because I have only encountered a couple members of the staff, but this is my experience.

I found a stray kitten IN MY ENGINE on the way to work! I had nowhere to take him and the shelter in Longview didn't open until the lunch hour. I called up Kilgore Veterinary Associates and they offered to take care of him for me and get him re-homed or to a shelter safely. It was very clear that they are compassionate and empathetic toward animals, even for those unexpected emergency visits. The kind of people you definitely want taking care of your pets! Would recommend them to anyone!

Dr Rob is such a knowledgeable and caring person. They now have an equine surgery center and boarding facility. New vet in staff ... have heard great things about. The small animal is fabulous as well. Don't be in a hurry. Everyone gets their time with the Doc. Be patient ... you will not be disappointed!

Let me start off by saying, I should've read the comments before wasting my money. The reviews were dead on. My experience here was terrible. The ladies were rude and unprofessional. No one acknowledged me as I entered the store, basically had to stand over them just to get a "Can I help." I came in for a ear trim and when I pick my dog up her ears were still bleeding a little, they gave this donut and green powder to put on her and her ears. I express that the donut didn't look efficient to put on her (She could chew it up). The only advise they could give me was whoop my dog, but bring her back they'll stitch her back up no problem if they come out and I could come get her the next day, but that wasn't the case. When i returned for my dog they were rude & disrespectful again because they couldn't find my dog paperwork, but they could produce all these extra bills. Before they give me my dog. It all led to a cussing match with them and my family member and them calling an off duty police friend of hers to the front. They were charging for recutting her ears when that's not what they advise before I left the first time. So I just paid the fees because It was the 3 time being back there and I wanted my baby home and when I brought her home her ears were still not stitch right. They don't even deserve the one star. Im rating.

What matters most to me about a good veterinary clinic is (1) the quality of the veterinarian's evaluation of my pet, and (2) the affordability of the services provided. Timeliness, cleanliness, and friendliness of staff are in my opinion great bonuses, but not integral to a good clinic. This clinic is very good in my opinion, because it meets those two essential criteria, in addition to also providing a moderate degree of the latter bonus criteria. VET: The veterinarian who saw my puppy was very gentle and kind to my puppy. Not very talkative with humans, but I'm cool with that - we were there for the dog, not socializing! He gave the seemingly mild case of pinkeye our puppy had with seriousness and attention to detail, quickly discovering our poor dog had a fever and needed oral antibiotics! COST: Very very affordable. I'm a 'broke college student' but found the $30 office visit plus $10 antibiotic course very cheap for the quality of my pet's evaluation. APPEARANCE: The clinic had nice interior colors and decorations, standard for a clinic. There was a mild odor of pet #1/#2, but not overwhelming. The floors did not look clean at first, but the cleaning ladies seemed to be mopping up after accidents on those floors like three times during the hour we were there! They don't let messes sit for long, and use standard disinfectant practices. STAFF: The main front desk worker here was not at all friendly, but she lost her voice to laryngitis, so I could imagine she was having an awful day. The other desk worker was nice and accommodating when my puppy pooped all over the floor, and got the sweet cleaning ladies to take care of the mess. TIME: After checking in we had - 30 mins in waiting room, 5 mins waiting in exam room, 7 mins with the vet, and then 10 mins waiting for meds & receipt at front desk. No matter what type of clinic I've been to, those times are good and competitive. Obviously some days here might be worse than others, but I think these people run a pretty efficient operation here.
