they did work I never asked to be done and then got pissed when I said that I wouldn't pay for work I didn't want. otherwise they have good stock and fair ish prices but there are better places in augusta

I think this store is great. They a average and good selection of string and winds instruments at a cheaper price than other music stores. If you want to buy string instruments go to Kirkwood. Also Kirkwood has lower prices for wind instruments than portmans and they have professional repairs.

Kirkwood is the best, his entire team is very knowledgeable. I was very surprised to find such quality work in little ole Augusta. Their basic repair skills are on par with the best in Manhattan and their prices are fair. If I lived I Atlanta I would bring my horn here. This is small business at its best.

I originally was a customer of Brunkow's Music until they closed down. At the time, there was only one other music store that I was familiar with so I began to do business there. I never was completely happy with this particular music store and I have never been a huge fan of business chains. Then, someone told me about Kirkwood's. I took my flute in to be repaired and was highly satisfied with the work and the turn-around time. A huge bonus and selling point for me was and still is their excellent customer service! Also they are a locally owned business. I no longer take my instrument anywhere else for repairs and handle all of my music needs there. If they don't have what I need, they never hesitate to order it for me in a timely manner. I have been a Kirkwood's Music and Repair customer for 7 years now and have yet to have a poor experience.

I brought my vintage sterling silver trombone to Kirkwood for some dent removal and slide work. I found his service to be fast and reasonably-priced. His repairs were spot on. I found out later that the really nice lady that waited on me is Kirkwood's mom. I love doing business with them!
