Kopetsky's Ace Hardware history started in Downtown Yankton in 1975 when Leo and Carol Kopetsky purchased a 2,500 sq. foot "Coast to Coast" hardware store. After two moves/expansions they landed in their current location in downtown Yankton in 1984. The second and much larer sore was opened on N. Broadway in the summer of 2007 which included moving the bike and fitness shop out of the basement and up on Broadway in the new store (No more steps to roll the bikes up and down.) In 2011 Kopetsky's Ace Hardware was awarded as the coolest hardware store on the planet.
