The star of the Bon Temps Buffet seems to be the boiled shrimp, year 'round.  This is unfortunate because they have recently changed how they prepare the shrimp. It had been done with "Old Bay" seasoning, which was fine. Now the shrimp is a deeper red and it tastes strongly of cayenne pepper. My suspicion is that this is by design, to discourage over-sampling. The pink shrimp were much better. 

Most of the people working there are friendly and helpful, as you would expect. But some of the servers have a definite attitude problem. I stood by the pork loin slicing area and waited for over five minutes. Finally, a server called to someone to come over, who in turned called the woman who was supposed to be manning the slicing station. She sauntered up and was obviously peeved to have been interrupted. The pork, by the way, was perfectly prepared it's a shame the experience was ruined.

The buffet needs hands-on management, it currently seems on autopilot.

Excellent service, polite, friendly service from the valet on up. Rooms were simply gorgeous, spacious, wonderful bathrooms, room service, everything Is a phone call away. Best hotel I've stayed in in a while and would always go back.

Nicest casino in the Baton Rouge area. There is a smoke smell, but it isn't too bad. The downside to L'Auberge is high table minimums. Craps is $10 and Blackjack is typically $15 during the day, and even higher at night. Overall it's a fun place to play and lose some money.

Very clean nice elegant and pretty atmosphere actually everything about L'Auberge is great except for the fact that all the machines are set up to flash a bunch of bright lights weigh more than any of the other two casinos and make extra change sounds 5 times as much as what you're winning just to keep you involved and thinking you're having a great time and winning money when really you might break even or go home in the negative

Good place to gamble. UPDATE: I recently went to gamble here and both times I had to point out the restrooms. Traveling 4-5 hours, I often use the restroom before going into the casino. What a NASTY place! I requested security to call someone to clean it. My next visit, again NASTY restrooms. Inside the casino by the little bar that serves food, I went into the restroom and an employee was opening each stall door. The area was trashed, toilets filled with nasty things. She never attempted to flush them or pick up toilet paper. I asked her if she cleaned the restrooms and she said yes. This worker walked out of the area. When washing my hands, I seen a sheet of paper for initials when cleaning. It was 4 hours since the last employee put initials on the sheet. Do not expect anything to be clean in the restroom! The location in Lake Charles has nice restrooms, which you will always see someone cleaning and checking them.
