After hearing so many good reviews from my Haitian friends about this restaurant I decided I would order the Mac and cheese via Uber eats since I'm starving and love Mac and cheese. Y'all. Why did this restaurant have the audacity to take a 45 minutessss to make some noodles with no cheese and no seasoning. For $7. See picture I was so disappointed when I opened the bag to see that. So I decided to call the restaurant and the girl was patient with listening to me but when I told her I was expecting Haitian Mac and cheese she proceeded to say that is just how the restaurant prepares it and Mac and cheese isn't even a Haitian dish. I obviously know Mac and cheese is a southern comfort food clearly. But this doesn't even compare. Ordering from a restaurant that advertises as HAITIAN CUISNE/CREOLE I expected Haitian style Mac and cheese with ham and onions and etc. Take creole out your name And webpages and maybe I won't expect Haitian style food or google how to make Haitian style food but nope. I just received noodles. Easy Mac looks more appealing than this. Fortunately I am expecting a refund from Uber eats but there is definitely room for opportunity. Don't put things on the menu if you aren't going to be authentic. Don't say you serve creole cuisine if you aren't going to commit to actually doing so. UPDATE: I left the same image on their Facebook with a shorter review as the caption and they deleted it immediately. It goes to show they know that dish is unexceptionable.
The cook offered samples to both my mother and I and the tastings were phenomenal! Not to mention the cook herself was a phenomenally nice woman and the owner's mother who entertained us while we waited for our plates was so nice and warm. We left satisfied and my mom said "those two women were so nice that I will eat from there before any other Haitian restaurant because they are genuine people, and that's who you eat from when you want good food"!
So I ordered from this place on May 16th and today July 31st I’m writing my review, why? Because the food was that bad. I’m not joking I ordered okra and the mess that they sent me was beyond me and my stomach. The okra was whole slightly cooked with drumsticks! Cold drumsticks! The white rice had a slight burnt taste to it and the bean sauce lacked flavor. I am Haitian American and I can’t cook the food but I know how it’s suppose to look and taste. I am so appalled that these people really representing Haitian food like this. There is no way that the “chef” thought it was okay to serve whatever it was and call it “real Haitian food”. If you’re looking at these reviews and planning to eat here, save yourself. Don’t be fooled by the 60 friends and employees who left good reviews on here. I definitely do not think real Haitians are running this place. Because this food was not good AT ALL.
I write this with a heavy heart, because I really didn't plan on leaving this review tonight. We were so excited to try this restaurant for the first time. The reviews looked good, the pictures looked good, etc. We ordered via phone and even made an effort to order in Creole - being that we are Haitian American, drove out to the restaurant, arrived and was told "the food was never prepared". I was told they thought my phone call was a joke. Now I'm not one to give business advice, but if you want to avoid a prank or fake order in the future, I suggest taking a phone number, a credit card or something else. I wouldn't recommend having people go out of their way to come to the restaurant and tell them you didn't take the order seriously. Very very sad experience..
The food was AMAZING. Your food is made to order and it is worth the time you have to wait for the food. The owner was really sweet and I'm not sure if the gentleman that is in there helping is her dad, but he was funny and entertaining. I will be back to this restaurant.
The food here is incredible! This place is under rated. The people here are friendly. If you are looking for authentic taste, this is the place to be! The service is fast. They are currently working on many things but they are very warm people and you feel like home!
Stopped by during my lunch break to try something different and I was very pleased. Their service was prompt, polite, reasonably priced, AND the food tasted amazing! I definitely will return.
It took 2 1/2 hrs to get our food. They kept giving us different scenarios why our food wasn't ready. After waiting for so long they served 4 patrons their food first after we've been waiting for a great length of time. Very poor service.
This place is FILTHY! Splattered stains on the walls, bug hanging from the shabby ceiling decor, grime and filth on the countertop. It looked as if they NEVER clean the place. There was even a broken computer printer sitting on a bin right in front of the cluttered cashier booth. This all should have been my first sign to leave without buying. There were printed signs on each of the two benches saying "do not sit down". Why not? You advertise as a sit-down restaurant. Very tacky. Then when I went to pay for my one entree and drink, I was shocked at the skyhigh price for 2 dried out chicken legs and some black rice and beans... I didn't realize the legs were dried out and had obviously been sitting there in the back for hours until I got home to take a bite. They covered it with chicken sauce/gravy... To cut it short, I won't be back.
Great service, staff was friendly and explained food options. Food was amazing! Authentic haitian food. Was definitely worth the 45mins drive! Comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely be back here! Highly recommending this business.
