I am a retired Chef — moved to Greenville 11 years ago - I had no idea that just 15 minutes away I could take myself on a Sicilian culinary adventure that simply “Pleased my Palate” the flavors - textures- the perfectly prepared and excellent selection was amazing. It was Moms 80th - just the two of us - we started with the crab soup and the house dressing on salad was divine- we ordered stuffed flounder and the poached flounder paired with there side spaghetti- ordered a pizza - that’s like being in Italy - crust was light - cheese was aged to perfection- if you have not gone to LaCassetta in Bethel - you are missing out on pure heaven
Talk about a surprise! I have had photoshoots in this area twice now and twice I've made it a point to come here for chow. I've had the lasagna, meatball sub, and ravioli. I've been quite pleased with everything. Their marinara sauce is quite tangy and tasty. The meatballs were large and flavorful. It's been forever since I've been to a place that offered anything other than cheese ravioli, so ravioli stuffed with meat was quite the treat! The lasagna was large and filled with flavor. Portion sizes are good and the pricing is commensurate with the portion sizes. The prices are fair and appropriate. The chocolate cake dessert is awesome! I've had it twice as well. :- On top of it being delicious food, the wait staff and the owners are friendly and engaging. It's that level of engagement that makes me go out of my way to come here, and I will do it again next time I'm shooting in the area!
Terrible quality and way overpriced. Our first and only time going there and will never go back. So many things wrong. First I wanted the stuffed flounder. Was told that not only was it unavailable, it hadn’t been available for at least six months. So why is it still on the menu? My husband ordered a Stromboli. Nothing special. Dry crust and dry inside. I ordered the veal scallopini. It was so smothered in onions all it tasted like was onions. No other vegetables. No sauce. No pasta. No side dish…$19. Menu said $15.99. Menu also said it came with salad which I did not get. I asked if they had any oil and vinegar dipping sauce for the bread. What they brought was NOT olive oil. Some kind of industrial oil so bad tasting it made me gag. They claim to make their own olive oil to sell but they don’t use it in their food or serve it to customers. Anyone who thinks this is authentic Italian food has obviously never been to a real Italian restaurant. And it’s shameful to have prices on a menu but when you go to pay it turns out the prices are higher than what was printed and waitress didn’t even bother to tell us. You can save yourself some money…boil a box of spaghetti noodles, open a jar of store bought sauce and get a better meal.
Long established family restaurant in a kind of run down area of a small farm town which has seen better days when tobacco farmers were prosperous. Pleasant nothing fancy. Sicilian cooking I think . Best bruschetta ever. Good wine list. Menu outstanding . Best manicotti for me who had stopped ordering it because few places make it the way I like it. Don't be put off by the small town surroundings. Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant. Parking: Parking close to door. Wheelchair accessibility: Probably could do.
If you want straight up Italian food, then this is the place to go! 20 minutes from Greenville is every bit worth the drive. This was my 2nd visit, my son's first, he loved it. We both got the veal parmigiana and was excellent again. This is my favorite and almost impossible to get anywhere, and if you can find it they want 20.00 plus for it, here it's 16.99, a slight increase in price since my last visit almost a year ago when me and my daughter visited for the 1st time. Fresh baked bread. If pasta dishes are what you like you have alot of options to choose from, their red sauce/marinara/spaghetti sauce is amazing. Am already looking forward to my next visit hopefully will not be as long before we return.
What an amazing Friday night at La Casetta! The food was so so good! The atmosphere was the best! A home-like, warm, comfortable, family-style, with real Italian hospitality. If you want to experience real Italian food and culture, La Casetta in Bethel is the place.
Pretty good however it tries to be this upscale thing it’s not and it doesn’t work for it. The food isn’t bad just mediocre, the service isn’t the best, and it’s pretty expensive. If it embraced being an Italian style diner and not a fancy Italian restaurant it would do quite well.
I took the family out for Friday night dinner this place was recommended to my nephews boss. we were really disappointed when we were told that this was authentic Italian food we ordered our food had a couple beers. The beers were ice cold bread was good but the food was not authentic. The meatballs were frozen from a bag the sauce was from the order chicken Parm, the chicken Parm was actually from a frozen bag so none of us actually ate any of the food we brought the meatballs home to see if our dog would eat them and unfortunately she did not eat them. She has a good sense of what to eat and what not to eat. here’s a picture showing our dog, not eating the meatballs.
Foods great, REAL Italian food. Atmosphere is wonderful. Staff friendly and kind. The owners are like my family I was raised in an Italian household, feels like home to me.
We Love La Casetta! Class Act! Last night I witnessed an absolute disgrace. I have been going to La Casetta for 17 years. A family that came in went to pay and complained so loudly that the entire restaurant heard what was was going on. To start, I’m guessing it was the son, went to pay and started the whole thing, to which the father told him to go outside. The father proceeded to use the F bomb on the owner. He was literally screaming about his meatballs being frozen. The owner tried to diffuse the situation by letting them go without having to pay for their meal as they were so disappointed and remained professional. Yet, this man continued to berate her and belittle her. That just wasn’t good enough. What is the world coming to? I mean since when is ok to cause a scene and act like a complete crazy person? Looked more like they wanted a free meal. La Casetta has always been a great family restaurant with amazing staff! Props to this small family business that has been so consistent over the years! Best crab soup ever! Strawberry cake is always a treat! Thank you for being so good!
