First of all: The Good I love LA Fitness. You get a good mix of folks there and no one has struck me as outstandingly obnoxious. They have a great spread of equipment and are almost always open. The Bad: LA Fitness's contracts and personal training are extremely predatory in nature. You can only make changes at the gym you signed up at (even if it's in another state). You also must sign up for a year in advance. You are badgered into keeping your personal training plan even if you want to quit it. Overall: decent place to get a varied workout, folks are friendly. Contracts and business practices are predatory and should be very carefully considered before signing up for anything.

This is an excellent place to workout at. Their are all different types of people from different walks of life, income, and social status. I've seen cars in the parking lot range from an old Grand Am, to Fiskers and Bentleys. Once inside, we members are respectful to one another. I give credit to that to Derrick, the man-ager. He makes everyone feel welcomed and accepted by being involved and getting to know members personally, and by their 1st name. I've also meet a few celebrities. I love my gym

The gym equipment are great and in good condition. My issue is I got a call one day from the VP stating that both general mangers have been training someone at the gym so they were taking my guest pass away. They couldn't tell me who it was male or female. I went to the Lakeland location where I usually work out with my wife and I asked the general manager that if he told the VP that I have been training someone, and he said no he hasn't spoken to anyone about anything the only person he usually see me working with is my wife. I called corporate to speak to the district manager and waiting for about a week but never got a call so I decided to call corporate back again to see why I didn't get a call. When I spoke to corporate the lady said it was Final there's nothing they could do about it so I decided to call one of my friends who work at the gym and he told me that basically they wanted my wife to have her own membership because we have been at the gym for over 3 years and she been using my guest pass to work out with me.

Great clean facility and professional staff make it a welcoming and accepting place to exercise. Awesome amenities and unlimited classes for all fitness levels. Excellent gym

Equipment is great as is the perks such as classes and what is offered beyond the gym itself however they have some very shady sales practices I'd warn anyone not to sign up for personal training or any type of contract. There quick to charge you out despite asking to end the contract 30 days out I was still charged an extra month I don't intend to use. Stay clear. Even while using the service I was asked several times to increase the personal training amount since "we don't typically do less then ---- times a week". Kinda seemed more like a car sales approach to selling. When I tried to end it I kept getting told I had to come back on a certain day and time or it couldn't be ended. I asked specifically not to have auto billing. I was told it was taken off. It wasn't and when I came in to dispute it manager claimed no notes were put in Shady sales seems to be a theme if you look at other reviews. It's a shame they have some good personal trainers. I'd have left a 5 star review if it wasn't for how the products were sold. I was a member for over a year and I'd say avoid this place at all costs
