I had a mother's day event and I wanted to bring a party tray of Lumpia. I called and asked if I need to reserve my order over 2 weeks in advance. I was told no, just call 30 minutes ahead. I asked, will you actually be open on Mother's Day? They said yes. I went yesterday only to find the shop locked and closed. I won't be back after being lied to. Glory's Bakery will get my business from now on.

The people there are amazing! After searching the whole area, this was the only place that had Biko, a rice cake that is a favorite of mine. It was so good! The food is also wonderful! I think I found a new favorite place for Filipino food.

PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS before taking a gamble on this place. Our experience with them was horrible customer service and sub-par food. You're better off just cooking your own family recipes and bring with you if you're traveling to the beach. I took my family on our first trip to Virginia Beach, we're originally from Dover, DE, and two of my Aunts are visiting us from the Philippines, it was six of us total. We got hungry once we arrived after the 4 1/2 hour drive, so we decided to try a local Filipino restaurant. We originally went to Oriental Kainan but they were closed, so the next closest shop that came up in my google search was this place. I cannot stress how much I regret not reading the reviews. Anyway, we went in. The food didn't look that appetizing but we were hungry and I'm not one to be rude and complain about someone else's cooking. We ordered some 2-menu combos and drinks. A couple of people came in for to-gos as we were deciding and completing our order but, we let them ahead of us as we decided what we each wanted, so we didn't hold up any line or keep them from serving other customers. No one else was eating in the restaurant. There was one Caucasian lady who sat in the table behind us, but she didn't place an order, and she wasn't eating. I only mention other customers because after eating a little bit one of my Aunts started to get cramps, we asked for hot or even luke warm water to settle her stomach. The young man working there was nice enough, asked the older lady, who just looked annoyed and just said "no"... :-/ REALLY?! You have a kitchen and AFTER we order and are set to pay you couldn't even give us water? Like I mentioned earlier no one else was eating in the restaurant. The customers who came in after us and ordered the to-gos, had gone since we let them go ahead of us. By this time no one else had come in, it would not have held up customers or anything to oblige us (pag-bigyan) our request. Anyway, by the time I got back, I felt so bad seeing my Aunt, her lips were pale, while the rest of my family were massaging(hilot) her stomach, because she was cold to the touch from the pain of the cramps. I gave her the medicine, we paid our bill, and I massaged her head. As soon as she felt the slightest bit better we were talking amongst ourselves what we could do, where we might be able to get hot water, then the lady who told us she had no hot water said there was a Starbucks across the street. :-/ We helped my Aunt to her feet and got out of there. I brought the car around. One of my other Aunts then decided to try to ask another shop. She went NEXT DOOR to the Subway-where we weren't even paying customers-yet THEY were KIND enough to microwave some water for us, no charge. As soon as my Aunt got some warm water, it helped settle her stomach and after a few minutes was pretty much good as new. Then Ms. Go-to-Starbucks walks out to prop open her door, I sarcastcally said "salamat ate!" out of frustration. I don't think she picked up on it though. Getting WARM water from a RESTAURANT KITCHEN should not have been that difficult to receive, especially since: 1) A kitchen needs running water and a stove in order to function 2) we were paying customers 3) we weren't difficult customers, we didn't complain about their food or anything 4) you should have compassion towards any person in general and want to help them 5) but (come-on) in particular show compassion to your kababayans 6) you see someone IN your establishment who is OBVIOUSLY not feeling well, you should be trying to help We have been to Filipino stores and restaurants in New Jersey and Philadelphia and we have NEVER been treated in this manner. Normally store owners are happy to see new faces, talk with you, eager to help you in ANY way. Reading the other reviews now, I see it's commonplace for these people to mis-treat customers...with the exception of the young man working the turo-turo and cash-register, he was nice enough.

I just spent $60 here here to buy a nice meal to take home for my family and I have NEVER been so disapointed in a resturant in my entire life. I've NEVER felt so ripped off in my life. I bought a large serving of chicken adobo, it was litteraly boiled chicken with about a tea spoon of soy and all water (absolutely no adobo). The tray of lumpia i bought came with a cup of sauce that was "maybe" half a spoon of sauce and the rest "all" water. The pancit literally had ZERO pieces of chicken or meat ($16 for flavorless noodles and cabbage). I LOVE Filipino food and this is not just the worse Filipino food experience i"ve ever had it is the worse FOOD experience i"ve ever had. To be fair the pepperoni bread was great but honestly this place is a JOKE!

I placed an order for pick up, confirmed costs. I had another family member pick the items. All of a sudden prices went up because it was Thanksgiving $1 more per dozen for Pandesal and $8 more for pancit. I asked in the future to be upfront about all cost because that was not the price given over the phone. Instead I was belittled about complaining about the higher cost wasn't that much and condescendingly said I should have mentioned that I wanted them for free. Needless to say, they will not be getting my business ever again from a place who sells mediocre food. There other Filipino places in the area and I would travel to get better food, honest and kind small business owners.
