Story

Fifty-five acres make up Lake Oconee KOA, The campground was developed with a “railroad” theme and 23 railroad cars were brought in and used as offices, in recreational areas, as shops, and as overnight accommodations. Club cars, cabooses, and boxcars were used in the design scheme giving the resort a truly unique flavor for your next vacation rental stay. The railroad cars exist today and are just one of the amenities that makes Lake Oconee KOA a premier RV campground.

Horrible stay that resulted in damage to our 40 ft 5th wheel July 30, 2016. Spoke with Debra Sykes on numerous occasions and she submitted an "incident report" regarding the situation on August 2, 2016. Today is February 24, 2016 and we have not received ANY information. When I attempt to call Ms. Sykes I am told she is out until Monday. I would like to say this issue was resolved, but it has been completely ignored, although I will persevere. I also had to give them at least one star just to be able to post this comment. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Great place. Clean cabins. Terrific lake view and sunsets. Lot of things to do in the park and around. 1hr from Atlanta.

To the whiny people who have put bad reviews about this campsite, please! I had no problem leveling my camper and it is my first time. I read the reviews and I almost didn't come to this beautiful Campground that I'm having a great vacation at. Staff are wonderful. The campground is so clean and quiet. I've never been to a camp site where there's barely any bugs. It makes me angry that people have nothing better to do than try to discourage others from having a good experience. Just because you don't know what you're doing, it doesn't mean that others are as incompetent. If you don't know how to back a trailer, level your trailer, and keep from damaging your equipment going camping, well camping just isn't for you. Go to Motel 6. However, if you want beautiful views, clean campground and helpful staff, I definitely recommend this place.

I gave this campground a 4 because of the great staff. We did not want to unhook so when Debra knew we wanted milk she delivered it to our campsite. Yes it is In Transition and the new pool liner was great. The back in by the lake was a challenge but the staff did change our site to one that was a better fit. We even stayed another day longer than planned and if we are in the area again we will return. Staff is working hard to fix the areas that need improved

This appears to be an older campground because of the size of the camp sites. Not good for big rigs
