Lake Oswego Health Center sent me to COLLECTIONS (200293) for $50 for canceling my appoint 24 hours in advance over the course of a weekend, instead of 48 hours in advance. I typically don't leave negative business reviews but I am keeping my word to their office manager. I was referred to see Dr. McMonagle by a highly respected associate who told me she sends a lot of her clients there. I was very excited about the appointment as I currently live outside of the USA and am only back in the area for a few weeks a year. I scheduled an appointment and the receptionist stated that I needed to cancel 48 hours in advance. Sure... no problem I said. However, the appoint was a day before my departing flight and some family events came up that I needed to do, so I called and left a message on a Sunday that I wouldn't be able to make the appointment. A couple of months later, outside of the USA, I start receiving collection calls. I took a light hearted approach and explained the situation, hoping the office manager would understand and the next time I was in the PDX area I would come in for a consult. She was not friendly whatsoever. Then I tried logic and critical thinking, and asked if there was a difference between me canceling on Saturday (when the office was closed) and Sunday (when the office was also closed) for an appointment on Monday. If there is no one in the office to make changes to the calendar, then what difference does it make? She stuck to her position and was very short with me. At this point, I decided I wouldn't want to see a professional who had such a person like this on her team. I could be wrong, but from my perspective I did not inconvenience them as no one was in the closed office to make changes to the calendar - or to schedule a new patient whose spot I had potentially taken... so no harm done right? Anyway, I told the office manager that if she was serious, to send me an invoice to my foreign address; billing me for the privilege of having sought out this clinic's professional expertise and scheduling an appointment which I canceled in a realistic time frame. Not that I ever received anything for the fee I was being charged, I also added, that if the invoice arrived, for the nuisance of making a mountain out of a mole hill, I would share my experience on Google Reviews because it might cause potential patients to think twice about using these services. Especially if it is someone who needs some flexibility - know that there is none with that office manager and you might want to find a clinic that is a bit more patient-oriented. Honestly, I can't say anything regarding the quality of service, but the way that they treated a prospective patient (who would have referred more people) was terrible. They probably would have received several hundreds of dollars from me, not including referrals, but they are tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. Best of luck!

My wife and I prefer doctors whose interest is in solving problems and whose training includes proven alternatives, so we have been to the clinic several times. Great people, smart medicine, and results that are effective and safe!

Dr. McMonagle is great with patients. Love that she has made ozone available. Its helped me out tremendously. Lots of health options for many life ailments. I'm greatful to have her in charge of my care.

I have had the wonderful pleasure of working with Dr. McMonagle of Lake Oswego Health Center. Having a stressful career and an active lifestyle, Dr. McMonagle was incredibly knowable, understanding and insightful. Dr. McMonagle was able to providing amazing insights and helpful guidance in resolving my issues with the use of Ozone therapy. Her expertise and knowledge in Ozone Therapy is extensive and her caring demeanor is the best. If you want to get your life back on track, healthy, happy, and pain free, I highly recommend Dr. McMonagle!

Dr McMonagle gives a perfect mixture of professionalism and compassion with advanced labs and up to date science based treatment plans individualized to each patient. Her genuine care levels and attention to details are unsurpassed among the doctors whose patients I see. I have co-treated patients with Dr McMonagle over many years and have seen outstanding results and miraculous success stories that left other doctors baffled. She is definitely one of Portland's best naturopathic physicians.
