First off, beautiful restaurant and nice atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful with the menu items.

Here's the reason for the 2 star rating:
The food was simply over-cooked. Having never been to Laundry's before, I asked the waitress what the best example of their fare would be for a newbie to their establishment and she offered the seafood platter, "it has a little bit of everything". 

It was bad. 

I did have coffee and pie and was pleased.

And for the privilege of trying out this notable chain, it only cost me $85 (tip included).

Save your money, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID.

The seafood stuffed  jalapenos were good and spicy and the bed of onions were delicious. The grilled oysters were very expressive, $16 for half a dozen oysters is completely ridiculous. We ordered a dozen of the oysters thinking it was $16 because it was not clearly marked we paid $32 when the bill came. The oysters themselves were nickel-sized and the "cheese" was more like breading and crunchy. Very disappointed. The atmosphere was very nice and staff friendly.

The food was good with the exception of a wad of hair on our bread.  Pointed it out to the server and she took it away without comment.  Servers must no like to clear tables as empty dishes sat on our table forever while the server passed by and looked at them. Another person came out to take the empty plates.  Overall the food was very good and reasonably priced. Ask for a table in the corner as the dining room is very noisy.  The bar is quieter than the dining room. Parking is a hike

Great food and excellent service! We got the sea bass. The fillet was large and very fresh.  Bread and salad  were delicious. Prices ranged from $13 for po'boys to $38 for the sea bass. We wore jeans and felt a little under dressed. Most people wore business casual. It's not a super fancy place, but most people didn't wear jeans and t-shirts.

We had a work party held here in the private room. We had access to the deck for socializing before dinner. The service was impeccable! Drinks quickly refilled. Wonderful appetizers. The chef offered his services and was open to any special requests or dietary needs. I had a delicious tender steak cooked to perfection. I really can't compliment the staff enough.
