Lantern has a great atmosphere and makes a great cup of coffee. There is plenty of seating and a great place to do some homework or catch up with some friends. If you can avoid going during busy hours it can be a quaint place to read a book. Would highly recommend!

The Lantern is one of my fave spots to chill in GR. Beautiful space with bright window views if you are feeling social, or low light intimate spaces if you need to crunch down and concentrate. 

Great low key tunes play in the background, lots of vegan dessert and bakery items, and great lattes with homemade flavor syrups!

Amazing place and great space to recenter.

Perfect place to dip out and get some work done. They also allow you to reserve seating for small meetings and study groups. On top of it all they have some of the friendliest Baristas in the city.

The Lantern offers great local coffee and tea choices. The coffee is very good, beating most major chains in terms of quality. There's also a very unique atmosphere, feels almost like an underground Chicago coffee shop. 

The typical crowd is college students studying, but I've seen people from all walks of life here. 

Don't expect much in the way of food, there are a few pastry and baked good options but that's about it. 

NOTE: no wheelchair access to lower seating area or restrooms.

Baristas are awesome at this location!  Very friendly and knowledgeable about coffee.  Extremely accommodating and perfect location to get away or have a quiet business meeting.
