Lawton Chiles Middle Academy is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme World School and is accredited by AdvancEd. Our math, science, and technology magnet school is located in historic downtown Lakeland, Florida. High expectations for academics, behavior, and attendance are evident school-wide. All students wear uniforms, encouraging an academically focused environment.

Top Notch Education in Polk County,

It is sad to see that kids are getting on here and making this school look bad. The truth is what middle school child wants to wear a uniform or follow rules. Well guess what, this is the real world. And because of this school my daughter will be ready to take it on! Yes, they are demanding and strict policies, but these are in place to help the children excel. If your child is lucky enough to get in here you should take advantage of one of the highest graded, top notch schools in the area.  This will be my daughters third year here and I wouldn't have it any other way.

LCMA school help my daughter over come bullied at her other school and the teacher care about her and they are helpful and because of this school her grades went up and she feel safe, 😂 this is one of the best middle school in "Polk". I thanks the teacher and office staff and the two years she was here has help her more than anyone know I thanks God for her going to this school God bless this 🏫.

I'm now a freshman in high school so I just left the school. And I can confidently say that I'm over joyed that I left it. The 3 years I was at Lawton were the worst 3 years of my life. I know it's school and you have to do work but this school gave WAY too much work for middle school standards. I understand that it's an IB school but every day I was drowned in homework and just gave up. The worst part about the school is the staff. Not gonna lie some of the staff is amazing and I love them. But some of them are absolutely terrible and don't care about the students whatsoever. I'd say by far the worst staff member in my opinion is the dean Mr. Bruno. It seemed as if he was unfit to work with children and was most of the time insensitive and gave punishments way too harsh for the smallest things. And don't even get me started on the dress code. I understand that every school has a dress code. But this one was WAY too strict and made many people (mostly girls) feel very self concious about themselves. One thing I will give the school tho are the people there. I met so many great friends there and most ppl are very nice tbh. Other than that, the school is just another in your face middle school that thinks their better than others when in reality it's way way WAY too difficult and borderline basic. Unless u want your child to develop depression and anxiety (like I did) DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!
