Avie just took my long hair and put some layers and body into it.  I haven't had long hair since my 20s and have been loving the length, but not the look.  It now has body and bounce and is a really great cut! The price was a little higher than what I'd pay in NC, but for DC, it wasn't too bad.

Avie really listens to what you want and applies his knowledge to what you ask for. Kind, helpful and overall a wonderful experience!

I've been here twice, the first time for a haircut and the second for a wax... both times I was charged more than the website listed.

Overall, I didn't feel very welcomed and the services average. I won't be going back.

Update:
I stopped going here after my second time, because without letting me know, the price of a haircut with the same person jumped from $50 to $75. I inquired about it, but the person at the desk just said something about she didn't know what I paid last time... but that $75 was the normal rate... so yea... that sucked, and I didn't go back.

Old post:
Just got my hair cut with one of the owners, Avie, and it was wonderful! It's $50 for a haircut which I thought was pretty reasonable as they are a full salon and give you a nice massage and hair wash before and style nicely afterwards so you are looking your best.  I've had haircuts in Seattle for 60-80... not sure what they standard is here in DC though as I'm new, but seemed ok to me.

I really liked Avie because he was friendly, but not overly talkative like some people I've had my haircut done with.  He was also SUPER practical and since I told him I was pretty lazy about styling and waited a long time before I got haircuts, he cut my hair in a way that he said would look better as it grows out and instead of working against my quirks he worked with them and described how.  He fixed a layering problem that made the front flip out and was just very descriptive and open... I live just down the street and will ALWAYS go here from now on.  

I wasn't able to leave a tip as I forgot before they ran my card and didn't have cash, but I'm hoping this will bring in more, well deserved customers, and next time I'll be tipping double of course :)

I had my haircut done today by Avie. I was referred to this salon by a friend of mine who has been going there for years.Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the haircut. Definitely recommend Avie and Le Reve Hair Design!
