Very cozy theater. It has a southern feel to it. However, its closed down now under renovations is what the sign says for a few months. We will see. Many people suspect it's closed for good.

The woman at concessions told me I had to spend $6 min to use my card. I was getting a $4.50 diet Pepsi. She tells me this AS she's filling it up. After I inform her I'm not getting anything else and I don't have cash, she pours the whole thing out. She WASTED more than $6 of product. I found that hilarious. Otherwise, the theater is okay. Shows great movies but the seats are filthy and the bathrooms smell like an old folks home. But it's close to work and my gym so it's a decent stop afterward... I'll go back.

Lincoln Plaza Cinema is a classic part of New York's international and independent film tradition, and has been for 36 years now. It deserves to be honored and preserved as the landmark that it is. Indeed, the very artistic character that sustains premium UWS land prices for developers like LPC's owner, will be jeopardized by unwise attempts to maximize profit on every last fragment of ground now occupied by such cultural treasures..

The cinema is probably one of the few remaining hold out from the 80s. The rooms and chairs are noticeably old and because it's no stadium seating. It's quite annoying trying to view the screen by peeking in between two person's head in front of you. I think this cinemas will be closed for good on January 2018. Too bad though because they show good indie movies.

The best cinema in NYC and so reasonably priced! Perhaps this is why it will be closed soon. Very sad and unfair. We need to fight to prevent turning of NYC into a generic american city.
