This is by far the best little campground. This is by no means a resort type place but it is well maintained and clean. The owners are always courteous and helpful. Pricing for canoes, kayaks, cabins...is amazingly reasonable. Little Niangua Campground has become a family tradition.

This was an awesome campground. We checked out others and were not impressed. This one is on the Little Niangua branch of the Lake of the Ozarks. You can primative tent camp. If you have an RV there are quite a few spots. They also have a few small log cabins there too to rent. If you're tent camping and staying during week, unless after 4th of July you can just show up and no reservation. However, if you are including a weekend, I recommend making a reservation. If you have have an RV or want the cabin you have to make a reservation. The tent spots down by their dock were soft. They were sand. Which made it nice to walk around barefoot all the time. Plus if you didn't have an air mattress then the ground was soft to lay on. There is also fishing you can do there. I recommend if you are fishing only go during the week on peak times...or you can do night fishing. We fished right off the bank right at our campsite. You can swim off The bank too. The shower house is located right at the entrance and is in the back if the building that you check in at. It was always clean and always had hot water for a shower. There are porta potties throughout the camp. I grumbled about it at first, but they too are kept clean and they had soft not scratchy TP. There is a playground for if you have kids as well. The lady that runs it is extremely nice and easy to talk to. You can not bring your own wood so you will have to either find a place that sells it or buy some from the lady that runs it. It is $5 for about 6 or 7 pieces if you buy from her. She even brings it to your campsite already split. We bought 3 bundles and it lasted well into the night. We stayed up late, like 2 am. So if you're not staying up late it might last longer. All in all this is one of the best campsites in all the area. Nice, peaceful, beautiful.
