I would like to come here at least once a month. And I intend to order the same dishes every time because they are perfection. Great service and classic NYC basement dining vibes. Super cute patio with strong lights in the backyard tooFood: 5/5
Very good food, especially the tender ribs and the branzino. The vegetable curry didn't taste much like curry and had way too much potato. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is nice, the lights are dim. They constantly play loud music so the noise level is high.Food: 4/5
Had dinner at Wayla and honestly it was amazing! We kicked things off with some super refreshing drinks, the Ginger Pear and Cucumber Thyme were both perfect for chilling out on a hot night. For starters, the minced impossible meat in lettuce wraps was deliciously surprising and a lighter option that I totally loved. But the standout dish? The Maine lobster with thin rice noodles. The lobster was fresh out of the ocean fresh, and those peanuts tossed in? Chef’s kiss! Ended the night on a sweet note with mango mousse sticky rice that was just the right kind of sweet. The whole meal was a hit. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing service and a gorgeous backyard space to dine great food in. The service team is quick, polite and very alert. The food is excellent with great portions. They don’t cheap out on ingredients like shrimp, but instead give you a really good amount of them. 10/10 would recommendFood: 5/5
Classic overpriced business dinner spot. This spot is underground, so look for stairs going down when crossing this sketchy block. We got a table for 8 people and it was quiet enough to hear each other. The Brussel sprouts were good, the spicy fried rice was very bland. The drinks were good. Would not come back for the food.
I had this restaurant saved on my list for a long time. As a huge Thai food fan i wanted to try. The vibe and interiors are worth more than the food in my opinion. Me and my friend were not impressed by the 2 dishes we got: crab fried rice and the bbq beef appetizer. The place in gourgeoys though and the backyard/outdoor space is very cozy.
Overpriced food small portions. Beautiful plates but not much flavor. Truffle spring roll had no truffle taste. The pork meatball was fried outside was hard and dry. The papaya salad was in a tiny bowl. The calamari was missing color, needed to cook a little longer. Thai iced was with oat milk, healthier ok but not the original and taste we are looking for. The basil lemonade just taste like lemonade on ice. Honestly don’t know which one was the best. All ok only..Thai food can be better especially at this price point of apps from $20 to main dishes to 50$ drinks. Atmosphere is beautiful for the indoor and outdoor seating.
It was "fine." Can't tell if I ordered the boring menu item or if all of the food as just ok. The outdoor seating seems more lively, but our seats were utilitarian. I'd go back and try it again, ordering non-veggie dishes. I will say that my wife loved her lettuce wrap appetizer... And the mango mousse for dessert was next level.. Thus the 4 star rating.
I was staying at the hotel in China Town, and Wayla Thai restaurant is very close by we could walk to the restaurant in less than 10 minutes. The decor is very nice and cozy, the outside seatings is very beautiful and very comfortable. Great service and great food with a full bar service. Crab fried rice is to die for, Lobster Padthai is the best. Wayla is a good Thai restaurant to try if you are in NYC.
Elevated Thai food at this place here. This restaurant is truly delicious, and the outdoor seating is beautiful. I would recommend!! 1. Gai Yang - marinated grilled chicken thigh, with a sweet chili and jeaw sauce. The chicken was actually perfect. 2. Kanang Pad Krapow - sautéed brussel sprouts with basil, chili, and maybe some fish sauce. Really delicious. 3. Som Tum Thai - papaya salad. This was good. 4. Crab fried rice - it was not the best. I wouldn’t recommend it, plus the price point of $29. I would stray away from fried rice options here. Almost flavorless without the sauces on the side. 5. Yum Nua Yang - BBQ steak salad. Shallots, chili, lime. One of my favorite Thai dishes.
