Wan Wan
"Wan Wan is a throwback to Old Phuket-style restaurants where you see the local Thai and immigrant Chinese cooking blend together. The outcome is something familiar yet altogether unique in style. This sophomore project from the team behind beloved Wayla showcases lesser-seen plates to share and a repertoire of noodle dishes alongside refreshing drinks."

Delicious!! They don’t have their liquor license yet but the mock tails/refreshments were really tasty and beautiful!! We ordered 4 small plates: fried pork belly, short rib, crab cake, and fried scallops. All were good but the crab cake and scallop were probably the best. We also shared 3 noodle dishes for 4 people: coconut curry, branzino, and beef. The curry was really rich and flavorful and the noodles it comes with are really thin and delicate, which balanced out the heaviness of the curry. The broth for the other two were really good, though I think the beef was my favorite. Would recommend using their house chili oil, super tasty!
Phuket style Thai restaurant with cool bar. Went for dinner. Shared appetizers, our favorite was the short rib, meat was so soft. The curry dim sum was okay. For entrees we had the veggie soup and the duck noodle soup. The duck was very flavorful but duck meat was very fatty and had nerves. Ambience was relaxed, great place for group dinners or a drink at the bar. Prices are high.
Amazing experience! Went to wayla before and tried wan wan for the first time. The waitress is really attentive and nice. We ordered a bunch. For appetizers, we got fired pork belly and crab cake. The crab cake is really good but the sauce could a bit less sweet. I ordered the bbq duck with vermicelli noodle for main. I loved it. The waitress told me this is a special and you can’t get from other places. It exceed my expectations. Highly recommend!
We had such an amazing meal here. The stir fried duck vermicelli was so flavorful and delicious. The crab cakes had a healthy serving of actual crab inside instead of just breading. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. I’m definitely coming back!
My favorite from this visit at @wanwan.nyc was definitely the crab cakes! They were super rich with the curry flavor, and brought me memories of my vacations in Thailand I personally liked it more straight up, but it was also really good with the pineapple sauce! A little bummed that the pot pie was sold out at 1pm lol so we didn’t get to try it, because the pictures looked good~
Delicious food, friendly service. Was excited to try this place since I love Wayla. Very interesting menu, and the staff was happy to answer questions about the food patiently. I had the bamee noodles with pork and the shrimp tempura appetizer and both were delicious. The interior is modern with clean lines and comfortable. Will come again.
We were fans of Wayla so we were excited to hear they opened up a new sister restaurant Wan Wan in Soho with flavors from Phuket. They don’t have alcohol license yet but we love their refreshing mocktail selections very much. Our favorite was the WAN WANZAKI, which looked very eye-catching and the taste was balanced between sweet & sour. We visited as a large group so we ordered one of each dish from their brunch menu. The food was overall decent from appetizers to entrees, especially the crispy Hor Mok Crab Cake and creamy Namya Pauu. There was only one dish we won’t recommend, which was the breakfast platter since it looked and tasted just okay.
We finally got a chance to try Wan Wan after hearing about it from friends and we're so glad we did. The dishes were fantastic! The starters are definitely a must try, we got the fried pork belly and the crispy tofu. The pork belly was really good on its own but the dipping sauce put it over the top. The tofu had a crispy, chewy, mochi-like texture on the outside and was soft on the inside. The duck salad was genius. Admittedly the first time I've had kale chips in a salad but it complemented the salad really well with a nice crunch. The dressing was not too tangy, with a little sweet from the apples in the salad. I tried the wagyu beef noodles, which they pour the broth in table side so it's not overcooked. The beef was really really tender, even after leaving it in the broth for a while. One inconvenience we felt was the beef slices were a bit too large so it was difficult to share. The noodles were great, not too soft or too chewy, and the broth was very hearty, reminded me of Malaysian bak kut teh. My wife ordered the duck noodles, also very good but we both agreed the beef was one of the best beef noodles we've had. We had the coconut pandan for dessert. Initially we had one to share and after my wife tried a bite she took the whole dish so we had to order a separate one for me. This dish is the best reason to always leave room for dessert. If you haven't tried Wan Wan yet, please try it. You will not be disappointed!
Heard so much about this new Thai place with some Chinese influence. The appetizers were amazing! Tofu melts in your mouth with just the right texture outside. I loved the balance in the duck/kale salad, the flavors are fantastic. Moo Hong falls off the bone, it’s perfectly cooked. Definitely try it!
The food was incredible! I especially enjoyed the fried pork belly of course and the short rib appetizers. For the main dish, I had the vegetable noodle soup and it tasted very healthy, clean and refreshing. My sister had the beef noodle dish and mentioned how the broth was so rich and savory. The mocktails were also great. I think the presentation for all items were carefully created. The staff was attentive and the ambience was delightful. Will definitely come back with friends!
