Story

Lone Star Taqueria was established in 1995 and has been supplying the Salt Lake Valley with authentic mexican cuisine ever since. As if you stepped off a bus in Mexico, Lone Star’s vibrant atmosphere and fiesta of flavors really makes you feel south of the border. Lone Star Taqueria has been featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diner’s, Drive-in’s, & Dives” as well as a spread in Sunset Magazine claiming we have the “West’s best taco.” With local awards in hand, we are still squeezing the lime! We came fairly late at night but this place was still pretty full with patrons. Nice music and ambiance. The nachos we had were really good, a thicker nacho or fried tortilla. Staff was friendly and helpful with the menu which I would say is the only downside. The sections and food options are good, but there was a lot of opportunity for mixing and matching different components that wasn't immediately obvious. The gentleman taking our order was helpful and answered my questions but I can imagine during a rush it might be difficult if you hadn't been here before to sort out what you were having for the best combination.

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time. We ordered 2 fish tacos 1 shrimp burrito and 1 fish burrito. I had no idea the burritos were that huge. You defiantly get your money's worth.. Needless to say they aren't shy with their meat. The fish was well prepared and had a lot of seasoning. The beans were very fresh along with everything else that was inside the burritos and tacos. They have a really good selection of salsa. Customer service was really nice.. They repeated everything back to me after I ordered (went through drive through) & repeated again when I was at the window. Highly recommend.

Great. Awesome. I am allergic to a lot of things and they ALWAYS get my order right. It is soooo hard to go to a fast food place and ask if they would not put onions or cilantro on your food. Mine is ALWAYS screwed up at other places I've gone to. But not at Lone Star. Their staff is super nice and I always feel bad making them leave stuff off....but they really seem to understand. And that's important to me. Nice people, always friendly, and care about what I'm ordering. AWESOME PLACE!!! My husband and I have been going there for about 15 plus years!!! We love it!!! Thank you very much!!!

Gave our order. Even confirmed it 2. Pulled up to the window and paid. We asked at the window to double check if they put no lettuce as we politely requested and the lady said no it has lettuce, not to mention they completely forgot about the 2 tacos we ordered. They said blamed EVERYTHING on us saying we never ordered 2 tacos nor did we mention NO lettuce and extra jalapenos. They owner rolled his eyes and asked us to pull over and wait after letting out a missed OFF sigh...35 min went by..NO FOOD NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK WHEN THEY'RE ARE SO MANY BETTER MEXICAN FOOD OPTIONS.I DO NOT SUPPORT RACIST ESTABLISHMENTS!! I WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE A STAR BUT IT MADE ME!! THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANYTHING!! TAKING OUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE AND SO ARE OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!

We had been told by several people how good this place was. We aren't usually near it but we were on a hike at Brighton and I mentioned it to my husband and a fellow hiker over heard us and said it wasn't to be missed. It is one of those foodie places that people love to share. I get why now. It is tiny the parking lot is almost non-existent (we took the last spot and it was so close to the wall I had to climb out from the passenger side through the drivers side). SO worth it. The fish tacos were excellent and looking around other people had things that looked so good I want to go back to try more!! It's a little pricey but it's fresh and you do get a lot of food. You get 2 tacos with an order. Honestly one each and the guac would have been plenty for my husband and I. Enjoy!!
