Mississippi has some magnificent tree lined trails. Longleaf is one of those trails that is well built and provides both the bikers and the hikers an opportunity to enjoy nature while working out. The trees are labeled on the trail that enhances the walking experience.

Clean and stocked restrooms, water fountain, coke machine, workout equipment and benches; very nice rest area. Though the mountain bike trails aren't clearly marked anywhere online, this is the best parking for access with the trails approximately half a mile from the trail-head. I access the trail from this location 2-3 times a week and thoroughly enjoy the well maintained trails at Lake Thoreau.

It's a good place to start your biking trip along the Longleaf Trace. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, the parking lot was safe enough to leave your car unattended for whole day since there is always someone passing by/resting. My only problem was that it is not very well marked- the parking lot is separated into three areas and is much bigger than you'd think because two of those areas are unmarked/signs are barely visible... still a nice place!
