I consider Escondido a city with great soup. Lourdes has the best chicken soup that I've tried in Escondido. Why did I give this place 2 stars? Customer service is ALWAYS terrible, I've only been able to order over the phone once, and when I go in to order I can count on waiting awkwardly (possibly standing) for 30+ minutes. They do not tell you an expected wait. They just take your cash and hand you a receipt followed by a gamble on the wait time...no thanks!

The portions are rather large. The parking lot is spacious. I like that the dining area is separate from the cashier area. It reduces for traffic and gives you a nice quiet spot to enjoy your meal

Everything is delicious here and it is well known for the chicken soup.   I have tried basically everything over time and always left happy.  The staff is very freindly and helpful.   The chicken soup is chicken great which keeps it from getting fatty and it is full of flavor. Highly recommended

My wife and I always enjoy our dinner s hear . Great menu and atmosphere. They have the"Most Excellent" Chicken Soup. This is what they are known for. Highly recommend this place. One of the hidden treasures in Escondido

Found this local place on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed.
Excellent food. The big size chicken soup is indeed a full meal and delicious! We added a taco out of curiosity and it was tasty and very fresh as well. Loved the green and red hot (HOT) salsa that came with the (free) nacho's.
Definitely a place I can recommend and I would love to visit again and again (if I lived nearby). Not a fancy place, interior is old an run down, but that does not matter to me.. the food does and it deserves 5 stars (and service was friendly and helpful)
