Lowes online ordering is the worst experience I have EVER encountered. I ordered a stove online on 12/16/2017 that showed to be IN STOCK at the Kinston, NC store (otherwise I would not have ordered it because I needed it before Christmas). I set up the delivery for 12/20/2017 and took an entire day off of work to be home, because they will not tell you a window of time that the delivery will occur. I called the day before to confirm the delivery and was told that the appliance would be delivered from the New Bern store, because apparently Kinston no longer had it. I was also told I would be called the morning of the delivery to tell me an approximate time it would arrive. The day of, I did not hear from anyone at Lowes, so I called the New Bern store. I was nonchalantly told that they did not have the appliance and to call the Goldsboro store. I called and was told they did not have it either. I was told that it “wasn’t a big deal” and to “just go to the store next time.” I was irate at this point because I had taken an entire day off to be home to get this appliance before Christmas because my current stove completely quit on me and I wanted to be able to feed my family a Christmas meal. After going around and around with people at the Kinston Lowes, they were irritated because I told them I could not take another day off of work for the delivery… and they reluctantly set up my delivery for Saturday 12/23/17. The morning of, I once again heard nothing and called and was told THEY DID NOT HAVE THE STOVE AGAIN. After much confusion, the online ordering process was explained, and they actually did in fact have the stove I ordered the entire time. I ended up driving out to the store to figure this mess out, where they cancelled my original order, ensured I would not be double charged, and then I paid for the order again at the store. Well they DID double charge me and I am still trying to get my refund. I was also charged more in the store than I was for my online order. Everyone I have talked to that works at Lowes said that it was basically my fault because “it is stupid to order an appliance online.” Then why offer the service…..? I was also told that if they computer system shows that the store you order from does not have it, the order will ping back and forth to other stores and the customer is not informed of this. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Lowes. With all of that being said, Nick our delivery man from the Kinston, NC store was awesome. He was extremely friendly and patient, even though the order was thrown onto him at the end of his work day. He answered all of my questions and made the whole ordeal (almost) seem worth it. That man is the only good employee I encountered through talking to over 15 people in three different stores.

I called before going to verify they had the portland cement I needed in stock. Customer service in that department confirmed that they did. I drove 45min to the Lowe's in Kinston since Goldsboro did not have it (despite having it in their online inventory), only to find out that they supposedly sold out 30min prior to me arriving. The employee in the department was very knowledgeable but unable to help without the product in stock as promised by someone else on the phone. Have used Lowe's for many years and virtually all projects but may have to reconsider after recent experiences as such.

Lots of stuff on shelves, but not really layed out in a customer friendly way.
