I spend a ridiculous amount of time at Lowe’s. We have updated many houses with the help of Lowe’s and this store in particular. Including completely remodeling two kitchens. The kitchen design team has been excellent to work with and unbelievably patient with me helping us to get exactly what we want. Though not every experience is perfect and not every employee is the same, I generally find very knowledgeable people who are always willing to walk the extra mile to help me find what I need. On a recent experience, we were looking for a new flooring to put in a house and after selecting what we thought we wanted the sales employee help us fine a similar quality flooring that was on sale and helped us to save a couple hundred dollars.

Was told to arrive by 11 am to pick up out order of flooring. Arrived on time and was told it was on it's way up. Waited 20 min and finally asked if it was still coming. Everyone seemed confused and then said to walk over to the lumber side, it was on its way up from the back now. Walked over, waited another 10 min, asked the cashier to call on the progress. "They said it's on its way up now." So, we waited yet again. This time ANOTHER ten minutes. By the time all was said and done, our 11 am pickup was loaded nearly an hour later. This really set us behind for the day on our installation schedule. Very poor service.

Horrible experience - no one around to help me find what I was looking for. When I finally found someone, who was standing there chatting with a couple of other employees, I asked him where a specific type of nail was, to which he shrugged and merely pointed to the aisle where the nails are located. Since I couldn't get any assistance from the people who are paid to assist customers, I asked a contractor who took me to exactly what I was looking for. When I went to check out, the cashier said I could not use my business account because it had my married name instead of my maiden name, although I had other forms of identification - this has never been an issue at any other Lowe's store. When I claimed that the situation was ridiculous and that I would take my business elsewhere (I did NOT raise my voice, get mad, etc.) the employees made smug, "smart" remarks. Very lazy, horrible service. I drove all the way across town to the Richmond Road Lowe's and they were very helpful and allowed me to check out using my business account. No problems at all. Avoid Nicholasville Road Lowe's at all costs! They will no longer receive business from my roofing company; I will use ABC and TRAVIS Roofing Supply. Nicholasville Road Lowe's, you just lost hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly from my company.

Never, ever, buy appliances from this Lowe’s location - EVER! The sales rep completely, 100% verbatim lied to my wife & I about installation, delivery, cords, etc. He actually said their delivery person could change the receptacle at our house... really? They are electricians too? Also, sold cords that were not needed and said our washer hoses could be reused. Then found out delivery wouldn’t install the units without new hoses. We spent $1000+ on new units and Lowe’s was completely horrible to work with… having untrained staff is a disaster for any business! I’ll NEVER buy from Lowe’s again.

I would give Lowe's a 5-star rating except for one thing--their lack of self-checkout lanes. Sometimes their checkout lines can be long and slow. I usually shop at Home Depot mainly because they have self-checkout, and there is never a wait.
