This one star is for customer service over the phone. I was trying to price a wireless/battery powered shop vac with the charger and battery. I tried the operator first and they transferred me to someone who said that they weren't on the floor and who tried to transfer me to hardware. After a long wait hardware picked up but apparently couldn't hear me on the phone. They tried to transfer me but dropped my call instead. I called back and selected the hardware department directly but was redirected after a wait to customer service. I told them I wanted hardware and they again tried to transfer me but it just came back to them. Worst phone service I've had in quite a long time.

My 5 Stars are for the employee that so graciously helped me! We had flooring come in, so I went to pick it up, thinking it would be a quick trip. It was not. It took over an hour to bring our 6 boxes of flooring from the back to the front of the store. Needless to say, I was rather irritated. (I also had a hangry child with me). Lowell was the one I was fortunate enough to meet who explained what had taken so long, cracked a couple jokes with me and was super kind. He gave me installation tips and was very friendly and accommodating. I know they're suppose to offer to bring things out to the car for you, which he did and put it in the car without hesitating...it was not light...anyway...super huge thank you to Lowell for all your help and suggestions!! I will ask for him from now on if i have questions!

The girl in the paint department was very helpful, as was the older gentleman in the tool department. It can be very frustrating to go into these home improvement stores when you have zero idea what you are looking for. In general, I have found the Lowe’s in Vestal to be the best bet when I am completely clueless and they take returns easily when you totally mess up and buy the complete wrong item and have to return it ten minutes later and already lost the receipt. MOST of the time they are helpful when you walk in with a photo of the thing you need to fix. There are always a few rude staff members, but on the whole, THIS is my go to store in the area for home improvements.

Lowe's is great, good prices, good selection. The people there seem to know what they're talking about most of the time. Always end up here instead of home Depot or home Central.

Not enough employees and when you do find one they are rude and more concerned with stocking the shelves. When you press the call button nothing happens aside from endless ringing until a manager comes over the intercom yelling to shut the call button off. Then an employee walks past and shuts the call button off without ever acknowledging you. At that point should you ask for help you get a standard response of "We get in trouble from corporate if that rings too many times, this isn't my department." Also seems that the employees are always hiding in groups in a back corner of the store or down an aisle not many traverse. I will gladly pay MORE and go elsewhere than waste my time here!
