This district is absolutely amazing, it's full of great schools that put their students first, and are constantly striving to be successful and progressive.

Lucia Mar Unified School District should be ashamed, most importantly the Superintendent Raynee Daley. She may have a Doctorate, but she has no common sense. In fact she has about as much common senses as a 2x4. Just read the story about Jared Springer. Her response was: There are policies in place that guide when students can take part in extracurricular activities," "We cannot let students participate in the absence of a medical release, and when we did not get a release in time, we were forced to make a decision that turned out to be very unfortunate in order to protect the safety of our students and staff." WHAT????? That is a Psychological play on your (our) brain. Put into play by Mrs Daley. The phrase "safety of our students and staff" is put in to pull on your emotional heart strings. No one would every go against "safety of our students and staff" if that in fact was the case. But in this case there was NEVER any danger to the students or staff. She uses that phrase at the end (not the beginning) so that when you are done reading you will be in agreement with her. Even if you were not up to that point. Also many if not most people in the school should or would have known Jared's situation. He needed a Medical waver from whom, a medical DR. Well that too is a load of crap. As soon as his parents explained the story then the situation should have been over and DONE right then and there. Are you calling the parents liars? Parents right trump school rights.

You stink! Just read Jared Springers story, for a child that has endured so much, after being in a coma and hospitalized for an extended period and he was denied prom because he couldnt attend school? you people are heartless and cruel, for a young man that seriously needed to be uplifted, you really stink, I hope you sleep well with your rules, consider this what if it was YOUR child, how would you feel then, I cant even express my disgust and will find every single place I can to post this, you FAILED a young man that needed you desperately, way to go

A member in the special education administration And the Nurse ar The arroto grande jogo School gave harrased my son, who suffers from an autoimmune disease, over his prescribed medications for a week now. It is causing so much stress he's had to be seen twice in the emergency room over all of it. On a daily basis this topic is brought up and even after I repeatedly made it very clear to drop the subject during his regular IEP meeting, which 60% of the meeting was about my son's medications and not his educational goals, it was again brought up in the end and even so far is questioning the reasons why he's going to pain management and who sent them there. This autoimmune disease comes with intense excruciating pain and deters him from sleeping, eating, relaxing, and has held him back from being a normal kid. This is cause my son to feel like he's a bad person, extremely self conscious, not wanting to go to school anymore, and has greatly affected him physically by increasing his pain level intensity and stomach problems. One of the ER visit this week he actually went into panic / anxiety attack while discussing it with the school therapist and begin having severe intense chest pains and trouble breathing. I've hired a lawyer so my son's rights can be protected. I'm very disappointed and I'm tired of uneducated people discriminating my son because of his disabilities and the treatment prescribed to help him as he bravely battles not just this autoimmune disease but he also suffers a few others as well.
