Easy to access; easy to spend 30 minutes or 2 hours. Multiple placques & auditory exhibits at President LBJ's grandfather's home. At the site is about a 1 mile (easy/flat) trail through several buildings. Cattle and horses on site (white tail deer, too). A block away from the trail is LBJ's boyhood home. At Christmas time you can enjoy a lamplight tour of the home, right next to all the other holiday light attractions in Johnson City.

Family decided to clear our heads and take a small trip out of town. I have not been here before and heard good reviews on it so I decided to see this for myslef. It was absolutely beautiful! Not to hot or cold and a lovely breeze. It smelled so fresh and felt so relaxing to be out of the city. My son got to visit the little farm they had and interact with the animals. The farm was frozen in time and the staff dressed up to match that time period. It was really a pleasure to visit this ranch as if we were visiting back in those years. Staff was also very friendly, I would recommend this, especially if you just need to relax and get out of the city. The whole thing was just a big beautiful site.

This is part state part and part national park. They are located about 15 minutes apart, but we visited both. A lot of information here. House tours ( either in Johnson City, or Stonewall) are not really well suited for little ones. Rangers are friendly at both places. A car pass is required for the sure in Stonewall ( LBJ ranch) but it is free. Lovely, lovely piece of property. RV parking is available at both sites. And you could take the RV on the driving tour out to see the actual ranch and plane.

Really enjoyed coming here. This park is very clean, spacious, and we'll run. There are wild animals like deer and buffalo that roam the area and the rangers and staff at the visitor's center are very nice. There's lots of opportunities to learn about the first U.S. President from Texas. Also, clean bathrooms which is always a big plus in my book. I'd go back here in the future.

This is a great place to visit with the family. This is the original homestead and ranch of former President Lyndon B. Johnson. Entrance into the park is free but you are asked to check in at the main visitor's center for a free map and car permit. My guess is that is their way of keeping track of how many visitors per day so be sure to check in and keep this park free of charge. There are picnic tables and grills near the visitor's center. Most of the park is a driving tour with stops you can get out and walk about. For example the school, gravesite, homestead, working ranch and the Texas White House. Be careful of cows and deer on the road. My children enjoyed the different animals and the airplane at the Texas White House. There is a minimal fee to tour the Texas White House only. There are restrooms and gift shops located at the visitor's center and Texas White House.
