Mac's Backs-Books on Coventry has three floors of new and used books & magazines.

Story

We are located on Coventry Rd. in Cleveland Heights, a walking neighborhood near Cleveland's museums and Case Western Reserve University.

We have a large selection of classics, mysteries, science fiction, contemporary fiction and non-fiction. Mac's hosts readings, book signings, author events, book clubs and writing workshops. We also provide a free community meeting space for groups and organizations.

Mac's Backs is a member of IndieBound, a national partnership between independent and community bookstores.

Great selection of books ranging from classics to modern and everything in between. Friendly and helpful staff. Variety of book clubs, meeting a diverse variety of interests.

I love this place. It was one of my first introductions to an independent bookstore a little over a decade ago. Friendly staff, great selection, cozy atmosphere. 
More accessible entrances and exits would be wonderful, my grandma wasn't able to go in anymore toward the end of her life, but with these old buildings it's pretty understandable. 
All in all a really great place to be. 
Plus it always smells good because it's connected to Tommy's. Yum 😋

Another very nice and independent Cleveland-area bookstore. There should be a place like this in every town.

Awesome, cozy, local bookstore that happens to be connected to Tommy's next door. After you finish eating, you can cross over and look at some books. Love the smell of the place which just smells like worn paper. Staff is friendly and helpful.
