Normally a park of this size, (small) would get at most 3 stars, but this park has personality!  Where else do you see an ALBINO PEACOCK?  Not just bizarre wildlife either, this park has LIGHTS!  THATS RIGHT, LIGHTS?  The two tennis courts and the newly redone basketball court have the lights.  They are activated by a button that trips the switch, turning on the lights which are centered around the tennis court enclosure.  The basketball court benefits from this by its proximity to the tennis courts (TC) but it seems like the light is secondary light that illuminates one half of the basketball court (BBC) mainly, though both sides are
 basically lit.  Now, you MAY be asking why I still gave Madera Park 3 stars even though by my own judging criteria it should have at least 4 stars.  Well, the park is small and by that I mean useable space is limited and not necessarily the overall size of the park even though this park is small overall as well.  So small park, 3, but with pigmentless wildlife and lights the park is now at a 4 but then factor in popularity and Madera gets another bump back down to 3.  THIS PARK IS CRAZY BUSY ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS!  I havent played basketball here since the Sacramento Kings and various other sponsers had the court TOTALLY redone.  It is painted and there are REAL breakaway hoops and backboards.  There is even this solar recharging station/bench on the sideline.  It seems like there is ample people involved in pick up games as well, so if youre solo you may still get a chance to play a full court game.  This is my home park and one that my wife and i take our daughter to very regularly so maybe i am more harsh in my criticism but like I said, on days where its really packed with people, the points of intetest become clogged and busy.  There is just too few swings or slides or courts, (TC, BBC, SOCCER FIELD) picnic tables and restrooms to go around when there is literally a small country's population in attendance!

Wife took kids here when they were much younger and was here a lot. She can vouch for the safety of the park. One of the more important check marks when you have little ones. It's a small park with a play area and a decent amount of parking for the size of the park.

A good small park with a big playground. My daughter enjoys her time there.

Large park popular with the locals. There are baseball diamonds, basketball hoops, tennis courts, large playground for the kids, large grassy field great for playing soccer, flying a kite, playing fetch with your dog, etc., and has a large picnic area with bbq that can be reserved for parties.
