I normally don't write reviews for food places but this place made us such a good set of dinners that I couldn't help but share. I brought a fish dinner with greens and yams for my mother. She loved it! She is from Virginia (deep in Virginia) and she's old school. So you know she knows soul food. She approved of the dinner. Then I went back and got her a rib dinner and I got for myself a turkey dinner with mac and cheese and yams. I couldn't stop myself. Damn, that was some good food. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. I wish the service was a bit better, but the staff is nice.

My friends and I visited this place while visiting from Cincinnati. It was delicious!!! We all got different food items (macaroni, greens, yams, cabbage, dressing, ribs, catfish, wings, smothered pork chops, cornbread) and enjoyed it all. The food was hot and well seasoned, the staff was pleasant and the place was clean, we seriously had no complaints. It didnt bother us that there wasnt a bathroom or we werent "waited on" as other reviewers mentioned.

Amazing food couldn't get enough had to order two plates definitely going to go back hard to find this type of food in New York without it tasting generic magic soul food definitely got a fan in me

Currently waiting for my order that I placed at 7:05 and was supposed to be here at 8:20... It is now 9:10 and my order is nowhere to be seen. And to top it off when I tried calling the restaurant about the status of my order I got their voicemail 6 TIMES. I WILL NOT be ordering from Magic Soul Food ever again and if you have plans on actually eating food and not wasting your money on an order that will never come I would advise you do the same.
