We are a family dental practice located in Bangor, Maine on the corner of Stillwater Avenue and Penn Plaza. Our staff is wonderful; Dr. Buxton and our dental hygienists, dental assistants and front office receptionists work hard to make every dental experience a great one. We offer Cerec crowns (same day crowns), Biolase laser for patients not wanting to use a drill and/or local anesthetic and much more! Hope to visit with you soon!

Having been a dental hygienist for 40 years I have experience regarding how a practice will treat its' patients. I noted the respect that staff have for each other. They clearly understand what it means to work as a team. When this dynamic is evident the level of care is most often exceptional. That has been my experience thus far. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet professional and all the staff is very personable. Dr. Buxton leads a group of dental professionals who are dedicated and offer a high level of care. I am fortunate to be a patient in this practice.

My family and I are very happy with Maine Family Dental. We have been going for numerous years as they have gone above and beyond in quality service and continue to do so. The new building is very nice and the kindness of the staff surpasses my expectations each and every visit. Highly recommend!

Where a dental practice feels and treats you like family. They live up to the practice name and truly care about your dental health. Great depth of knowledge and experience. I can never say enough good things about them. If you're looking, stop the search and come here, you can thank me later! They will not disappoint you. Another noteworthy fact is that they work well with insurance companies, some practices do not so be mindful of that too. 

I have a smile I'm proud to share with the world. They made it possible for me to achieve the perfect smile that I desired. It's never too late. This place will help find the right treatment for you and be there every step of the way. I couldn't be happier!! My smile is my favorite accessory! Thank you all for making it possible!

The experience was designed not to let a minute be unused.  The reception staff  came to me prepared. Insurance had been  requested. They introduced me to the  Dental Hygienist who explained the several tests--Xrays, cancer scan etc.  soon to be administered and that I would see the Dentist at the end of her work, which I happened like clockwork and then I was escorted to the front desk where another appointment was scheduled.

I've been gong to this practice for more than 15 years.  I think the secretaries and dental assistants are top-notch.  I had Dr. McGarr for dental work and was very pleased.
After he left, Dr.Buxton put in 6 crowns on my upper front teeth. 3days after they were put in, one crown broke off including the post. (eating a thin crust pizza) I now have to wear a flipper which is annoying, limiting,  embarrassing and forever reminds me of a poor outcome.
