Good oral hygiene is essential to the well-being of your health, and our compassionate, knowledgeable Dental staff can provide ways to help you practice healthier habits for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

PCHC’s comprehensive Dental Center services provides full dental care for your entire family. Using the latest in oral health techology including digital x-rays, a Cerec crown machine, and paperless dental records, Penobscot Community Dental Care (PCDC) not only features preventative care, but also offers specialty care for a variety of dental issues.

Acute care appointments are available Monday-Friday, 8 am – 4 pm. Patients will be seen on a first come-first served basis.

Dental Hygiene Services are also offered to patients at Helen Hunt Health Center in Old Town, and for students at Downeast School Dental Clinic in Bangor and Brewer School Based Health Centers in Brewer High School and Community School.

They just left a message to cancel an appointment I have scheduled for this morning. I think. I have another scheduled for this afternoon. If anyone would answer a phone I will know which one. The last appointment I went to I sat in the waiting room for over an hour and left. I think they are so overcrowded because they can't do anything without seeing you like twelve times. I am not sure how the care is because I still haven't gotten anything cleaned or filled. The x Ray people are nice and so is the receptionist.

Dr. Hwang did a great job with my broken tooth. This is the first time in my life that Novocaine was administered painlessly and I've had it done quite a few times. I felt almost nothing through the whole procedure. Staff was friendly and professional as well.

Very helpful I call about about a toothache, and I was in for appointment 2 days later. when I got there staff was nice. Helpful also. I got the bad tooth pulled the same day.

If I could have given no stars, I would! I have one tooth that cracked and I just needed a filling. The first time I went they were going to only look at my tooth and send me home. I live 2 hours away. So I made a stink about it so after wasting so much time he drill out the filling I had there then just painted on what he called a filling. I did not have any pain when I walked in, I left in pain. For a week after anything even a tiny bit of cold would get the tooth hurting and throbing. So I went back for an emergency appointment. Then the doctor gave me so much shit about tooth he used up his time instead of just fixing it. He said he had an appointment so he couldn't help me. I made him late for his appointment to get my tooth done. Once again disappointment! I still have a deep hole in my tooth where food is getting stuck and cold is still bothering it. I still need my tooth fixed. They want to put on a crown and they want to do a root canal. So they want me to spend more money. Dentists are very expensive and I only needed a filling. I'm not going to let them do the other stuff but I still have to go in for the third time to get the hold filled in. Once my tooth is done, I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!! Did I mention I am diabled and need a service dog at all times.

Very friendly and helpful people, both in the office and in the actual dentistry. The sliding scale for those with low income is also definitely of note, I found it to be very fair. If you are like me and on a very low income and live in this area, you owe it to yourself to apply for their reduced pricing and make an appointment. It's a lot better than letting your teeth go all to hell because you can't afford to go to one of the big boys, and in my experience, the folks here are perfectly competent at the business as well.
