The tamales are not as good as they used to be. They make them smaller and higher in price which due to inflation I can completely understand but I do not and can not understand is the staff rudenesses. We a group of people were told to either be back or wait for an Hour for the tamales to be cooked , so we did. Before the hour they said the tamales were done but now only the green and only about 7 people were able to purchased. When I asked they said “I don’t know and called the next person” just to yell ya no ay tamales.
This place used to be good before COVID and now trying them this year, they were okay but little to no meat. The issue that I have and the reason why I’m giving it one star is because of the food poisoning my family and I got from it. If you went in on Feb 9th, 2023 and got a batch of tamales, good luck. We got all the flavors available and every one tried a little bit of all, but later on that night everyone was blowing chucks. Do what you will with this information.
I had them before and they “Were” soo delicious but sadly not anymore, they don’t have beef ones , and the flavor is Not as it was btw they bigger before! Just FYI I hope they would bring back the taste they had
Best tamales I had in very long time so good we went back next day worth the 1 1/2 hour drive
I drove from far get here at 5am and no one opened the door, I seen people inside cooking so I waited till 6am outside and no one came to the door to Atleast tell us what’s going on, maybe there behind on production or have some courtesy for their customers to say something to us, I was waiting with other people and cars until 6:20 I knocked and the lady just looked and turned the other way so we all left, there was even a trucker that said he always stops here but don’t know why they haven’t opened smh, poor customer service, so I ended up leaving and buying tamales from somewhere else
New recipe is terrible! They have way too much dry masa, very little meat and the flavor has changed too YUCK
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HONEST REVIEWS ...I wanted to go get some like right now because I remember how good they WERE ...YUP NOW THINKING I DID STOP BUYING FROM HERE BECAUSE OF ALL THE MASA PLUS THEY WERE NOT MOIST ANYMORE .... SAVED ME A DRIVE...ALSO UGLY HEARTS MAKE NASTY FOOD
I love there tamale's,they have a lot of meat , I really recommend these tamale's the ladies that work there really work hard because it's not easy to make tamale's
Maria's Bakery really did ruin a good things. Their tamales use to be so moist, full of meat and flavor. Now their dry and lacking meat and flavor. The ratio of masa to meat is way off. We use to travel a pretty long way to get these amazing tamales but now I'm not sure it's even worth it. The best tamales in town are now below average. Very disappointing
I've been a loyal customer for like 4 years now and the tamales just aren't the same anymore, so much masa with little filling and the tamales are a bit on the drier side. I remember how moist and rich and flavorful these tamales used to be! Please check for quality with all the new staff it's so sad because I love these tamales so much and my experience was based off going this very morning after 2 months or so of not going in a while.
