Liliana's is one of the very best restaurants in the greater Madison area. It is absolutely worth the short drive to Fitchburg for authentic New Orleans cuisine. Their vegetarian and vegan options are also terrific. They have a great lunch special for $10 Monday-Friday and their Sunday brunch menu is also wonderful. Don't miss it!

Went to Liliana’s for New Years special promotion, the food was pretty good, steak was almost inediblly cooked, way too rare for what we had requested. Tried to flag our server to alert her, but as the night went on we kept seeing her less and less. I requested a soda and waited for 30 minutes and still never received it. I totally understand with the holiday how crazy things can get but you need to pay attention to your tables. When the bill came we were surprised to see that 20% gratuity was on our receipt. I took it to the hostess stand to ask about and was told that gratuity is added to parties of 8 or more. I was in a party of 4. The hostess went to talk to the owner who happened to be in the kitchen. I was told the gratuity was added because it’s a holiday, which wasn’t anywhere online when we purchased the passes. Bottom line it was my first time at Liliana’s and I will not be returning.

Great Creole and Cajun food within minutes of downtown Madison! If you like Louisiana cuisine, the I highly recommend. The menu is excellent. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits, the jambalaya and the Liliana pasta. The wine selection and the dessert menu are great as well. Service was superb. Ample parking. Handicap accessible. Reservations recommended, particularly on popular dining out nights.

I have a question for the owner- why do you have a wine list that shows the price per glass but we were told by our waiter that we'd have to buy more than one glass if a new bottle was opened? I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. Regarding the service- it took a long time for our meal and our check to come. Food was fine though.

To start, service was slow from the start. The waitress came right away and then after we said we need a couple minutes to decide on drinks she disappeared for a good 10 to 15 minutes. When I say disappear I mean not even working the room with other tables. When she returned we finally were able to order drinks...which took another 15 minutes. When we ordered our drinks we ordered our food too, including appetizer. So after we got our drinks, we waited another 15 minutes for the appetizer, but a complimentary dish of corn bread and butter instead. The appetizer was still coming though. 10 minutes later, appetizer. 15 to 20 minutes later we got the main course. Now let me say the food was good, I had the blackened seitan and my wife the vegan red beans and rice. My dish wasn’t the greatest, but was still very good. Her dish was very good! Aside from the food, the service was aweful. This is only based on one server, because we saw how all the other servers were working hard and being attentive to their tables. Not sure why we got stuck with the one server that was never around. I would absolutely go back, but pray I don’t get the same server.
