Mission

The Maryland State Police is committed to maintaining a strong presence in Allegany County and our Troopers and civilian employees are working daily to ensure county citizens remain safe and secure. Uniformed patrol troopers of the Cumberland Barracks are joined by investigators from our Criminal Investigation Bureau and uniformed troopers from the Special Operations Bureau working in Allegany County in this important undertaking. We strongly believe the Maryland State Police fulfills a critical role in supporting local law enforcement through our statewide authority and mission to fight inter-jurisdictional crime and its impact on Allegany County.

I pride myself on being a person who drives the way they should, and the way the law requires. Your speed trap you set up on I-68 east bound in Allegany county destroyed my 15 year streak of no tickets, no citations, no warning. It also took away a career goal of setting myself apart from most drivers. And that is no ticket through the entirety of my career. I use to not call you guys out on the cb when I see you sitting on the road waiting or hiding in bushes. That too is going to change. I'm that driver that spends money for chains just so he's legal driving through the western states. I'm that guy that stops you while you walk through a store, shakes your hand and says thank you for your service. That too will change. You're speed trap is WRONG. YOU KNOW IT AND I KNOW IT!!! I WILL BE REMOVING MY BACK THE BLUE STICKER FROM MY DOORS. BECAUSE I NO LONGER BACK YOU! Stay safe. Don't do anything stupid!!!

A very nice Trooper came out right when I walked into the property and approached me in a very nice way. He was a "protecting the law and your rights" cop unlike most are "I am the law." He let me walk around the property and take pictures of the cars and he was a pleasure talking to. Very laid back man. As I was in the back and he went back inside, a man probably 6'5" shouts and says "Hey you! Get over here!" He begins to ask for ID and all this stupid stuff while I had my phone out and had the picture app open and was not causing any harm. The friendly one from before waved me to go while the other guy says  "get out of here." Great time and would put 6 stars if possible.

The Maryland State Police do a wonderful job protecting the citizens of Maryland.God bless you all!

They are the police, they deserve a good rating just because.
