Story

It was the 1970s — 1974 to be exact — when David and Molly Finley moved to Dalton, Ga. from Maryville, Tenn. and began managing a small jewelry shop downtown. Later that year, Pat Tanksley joined the small business as the store’s watch repairman. In the early 1980s, David and Pat bought Maryville Jewelers. The store has remained a family-owned business ever since. The second generation of Finleys officially joined Maryville Jewelers in 1998 when David and Molly’s youngest son, J.T., began his career in the jewelry business.

Today, J.T. and Pat own and operate Maryville Jewelers in the heart of downtown Dalton. After some 40 years in the jewelry business, David retired and now enjoys his time on the golf course. Since the very beginning, Maryville Jewelers has been a mom and pop store whose longtime employees truly bring a family atmosphere.

Maryville Jewelers has always put customer service first. Although the store has grown in size through the years, it continues a strong tradition of homespun customer service, the highest quality jewelry and unmatched friendliness, all principles that have guided the business since 1974.
