Looking for a Happy Hour spot or a restaurant to enjoy a delicious salad? Max's Restaurant and Bar boast of having "everything you've always wanted to eat". They have a high-quality menu with fresh ingredients. The Cobb salad was generously portioned and prepared to perfection. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 3 to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 pm. The beer and wine selection is local and they have a full service bar. I would recommend the restaurant have live music on the patio. It would being in customers and they would stay longer. This would be a great Happy Hour date spot. Either sit on the patio for some privacy or find a cozy spot in the bar area. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY
Nice spot. Had dinner with friends and it was a nice location that wasn't too loud but felt lively. Food was decent. I had the burger and it was nice and most but had a good little crust. Wife had the spaghetti and insisted on taking the leftovers home. Must've been tasty. Kids had Alfredo and ate it all. All in all it was pretty good. Price came out to about $23/person.
I grew up at Max’s in Marin and the first time I came here, it was fantastic. The matzo balls were small but I got two of them which were closer to the amount I remember. It tasted exactly how I remember from my childhood. However, today it was off. I’m not sure if there was a new chef or if I got the last dregs of their latest batch, but the broth didn’t taste quite as flavorful as normal, there was no butter with my rolls and the bowl I ordered was mostly over cooked chicken with just a couple noodles and veggies tossed in. I also got only one very small matzo ball for my bowl pictured. While I still absolutely recommend them and will return, I’m a little sad about this trip and suggest other take out customers check their order before they leave.
I had the tuscan chicken and it was daum good. The Holiday Inn is absolutely lucky to have this restaurant attached to them it makes the stay here in town much more pleasurable to know that I could walk down the hall and have a decent meal in a real restaurant with actual people though people that are not just hotel guests. Locals come here! Best holiday inn restaurant i have had in my 93 nights in hotels since January.
The fries were hard and tasted like they had been reheated. The waitress we saw to get our order, bring our order and one other time before the check. The hostess rolled her eyes at me when I told her I wanted to wait for my friend before I'm seated. Just could be a little more friendly I think. Won't be going back
This was a great reasonably priced place which was centrally located for 9 family members getting together for a Sunday holiday lunch. Several tables were put together, not too close to many other people – the various angles in the ceiling and adequate soft surfaces provided very good acoustics allowing people to hear all conversations – okay maybe there was one 93 year-old who said “What?” a lot. We arrived at noon and were given the choice of some breakfast/brunch items and a complete menu of normal meals. Our group mostly went for sandwiches, or half sandwiches and soup or salad. Nobody had a problem finding something of interest, but I don’t think we are too picky of a group. My Veggie Burger was very good and really quite spicy. I heard a couple of comments about things being a bit too salty, but I think that is somewhat the nature of the beast. Everyone said they were satisfied with their meal. The service was very good. There is a lot of accessible parking.
We scheduled an event in their largest meeting room and it went off perfectly. They accommodated a couple changes and had everything as promised. Very professional and on budget.
It's very good food, but you get what you pay for. Seems very pricy for portions, but that's probably the fancy ambiance as well.Food: 5/5
Good food, friendly. Service. Nice sitting area near the fireplace. It's a good local spot for dinner and drinks.Food: 5/5
First time here and I'll definitely be back! Loved the ambiance of the mom and pop shop vibe of this place. Definitely feel like family here. The food was great. Service was, too.
