A gem with a lot of character. Great menu options and well prepared. Friendly and seasoned wait staff with prompt service. They are focused on getting you what you want. After finding out that I am lactose intolerant, they were able to get me vegan butter, which you don't get everywhere. The walls are covered in prints of pop culture watercolors that resonate with Gen X and younger. Also the music draws me back to alternative of the late 80' and early 90's. This was our third time here and we have been impressed every time.
Yesterday, I came here with my adult daughter and young grandson for breakfast, and the pancakes, eggs Benedict, waffles, fried potatoes were fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection. Nancy took our order, was very friendly, and personally inquired about our satisfaction. This is truly a great place to eat for the entire family. Highly recommended.
Nice breakfast and brunch spot. Open until 2:00 pm. Fantastic breakfast options and daily specials. Nancy will more than likely be your server and she is hilarious. Definitely recommend as a stop on the way to or from Tahoe.
Delicious food. Super friendly staff. I visited solo and this was a very pleasant spot. What I loved second to the food and staff was how bright the dining area is. The entire front of the establishment is pretty much floor to ceiling windows. Loved sitting in the front left booth. I ordered the BLT, added an egg, hash browns extra crispy and fruit on the side. No complaints!!!
Love coming here to Nancy's Cafe. Nancy and the staff are always so friendly. The food is always hot and served to perfection. The Bannanas Foster is my new favorite. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
Great food and staff is always super friendly and funny, the vibe is just on point. Raspberry Jam is to die for, just try it and you won’t regret it. Kudos to Nancy always doing a great job cheers!
Service was good, and the food was cooked well. They don't have fresh squeezed orange juice. I got their "Fire Inside" omlette, it was cooked very well, and had a good balance of heat, just enough spicy to notice but not so much that your mouth was melting and you needed milk every bite. I wish they had some fresh orange juice to top everything off, but alas first street brand orange liquid.
This is a gem and Nancy has thought of everyone! There is a full vegan menu, plant-based milks, and vegan condiments. The food was so delicious! I was also very impressed with the warmth of the wait staff Nancy herself included! and how efficient they were. Only three people were on the floor serving the entire cafe and we never felt neglected or that we had to wait too long. We will definitely be back! It is well worth the drive from Sac just for breakfast or an after-hike bit to eat. Wonderfully warm hospitality and friendly environment in which to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner specialties! I enjoyed a BLT and was pleased with the perfection of the bacon. My girlfriend particularly enjoyed how the chief inserted bell peppers in with her tuna melt! As a side, I chose Fresh fruit and thought it was really fun that they included rambutan! The entire staff was incredible, especially Nancy! Thank you all for such an incredible lunch!
Another update: Went a few times since last review still amazing, today had to try the egg nog french toast on the special board!! Yummy !!Absolutely delicious!! Vegan and vegetarian options available! Large portions! Yesterday we got; Benedict Arnold breakfast burrito vegetarian style impossible And banana foster French toast All of it was very tasty Today we got omelets Vegetarian minus mushrooms Fire inside vegetarian style impossible All of it was amazing!! Worth the 30 minutes drive
