Small airport with fast AA checkin and quick security check.  Friendly , helpful folks.  Good food at the Coffee Zone!

I'd avoid this airport unless you enjoy being molested by the incompetent strangers employed by the TSA here.

2 stars because at least they were quick about groping my reproductive organs.

Easy to get to. Small and not overwhelming. I like flying into this airport and like that United and American both use it

Two huge annoyances every time I visit this airport that seem easy enough to fix: 
1. Takes too long for them to meet a plane that just landed and pulled up to the gate and get passengers off and on to the bridge.  
2. Takes WAY too long (longer than any other airport) to get checked bags at the carousal.  Sometimes 45 minutes!
Both of these things are constant and noticeably worse than other airports I visit.

The airport itself I really like. Short lines, cozy airport. What I don't like is getting groped there 5 out of the last 6 times that I've flown out of McAllen. I fly out of Las Vegas wearing the exact same outfit (on purpose) and I have never been groped. Not once, nor in any other airport. In McAllen, the machine always thinks I'm hiding something in my crotch area and so I get the groping of my life almost every time.
EDIT: Today I didn't get groped. So now it's 5 of 7.
