This place is a prison, mentally ill people are not criminals. Pennsylvania should close this facility instead on stealing the chance of patients getting real help from a real hospital.

Low stars for the imposing "prison" like atmosphere. It seems like they want to medicate no matter what. That seems to be the MO and status quo nowadays anyway which is a shame when modern studies show that nutritional therapies can alleviate many mental illnesses. 

The snack machines are filled with junk, and soda, no healthful options at all. Not helpful for people suffering from mental illness. I hope for change, but for now I'm trying to get my daughter out of there as soon as possible!

The staff are friendly and helpful. It's too bad they can't paint some peaceful pastoral scenes on the bleak cinder block walls, that would do a lot to "lighten" the atmosphere.

   This place has improved a lot. The staff on site are fantastic for the most part. The doctor's that covered the patients here use to be absolutely atrocious, not surprising since they were usually from MCES(Building 50). But they are much more up-to-date. I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that the uncaring Dr. Nell has stepped down as head, but the DR's seem to be more responsive and open about treatment and medication management then the old batch were. There was a time where if you were on any medication that they deemed a "hassle" to work with, they would simply take you off it no matter how long you had been successfully using it or what Your out patient Dr. felt. You were pretty much screwed if you were prescribed anything like Adderall or Klonopin. But they have definitely changed in that regard.

This is the scariest place I have ever been too in my entire life... Not one person is ever there to help you. Once you are in there you are labeled as "crazy" so everyone treats you like you aren't a real human being. I would never recommend anyone to ever go here. Like I said they are not there to help, when some people really just need to talk to someone, no one is ever around. I did not get to speak to one single therapist during my "visit".
