I would give 10 stars if we could. Unfortunately, we have visited this facility twice. The most recent time was when our 3 year old cut his head. He came in scared and unhappy. We were in and out in 25 minutes and the Doctor was fantastic with him. She worked through each objection he had with ease and on the way home he actually said, "I liked that Doctor." In my opinion winning the praise of a 3 year old in an ER setting is as rare as a unicorn prancing across Long Prairie Road. The final cherry on top was a hand signed thank you note that was personalized to our son. This was not just a thank you note with a signature. As a father I praise their effort and as a marketer I appreciate their attention to detail. Again, thank you from our family to yours! We appreciate the service with a smile amidst less than ideal circumstances.

This is an extension of Lewisville Medical Center, an HCA Healthcare facility. I recommended my wife go here for an allergy reaction that was bad enough she could not wait to get to her regular Dr. She did get right in as no one else was in the facility. The Dr. spent what she thought was about 2-3 minutes with her. While he wasn't sure what it was he wrote 2 prescriptions so some or most of the time was discussing them and drug allergies. Within 24 hours of starting the medications she had a sever and painful reaction. She was able to get in to her regular Dr. who pointed out that 1 of the prescriptions contained a drug she was allergic too, which is what she discussed with the Dr. at FM Emergency. The 2nd prescription he felt should never be prescribed with the other. The opinion was that the Dr didn't really know the drugs he prescribed. To add, the Pharmacist had to call and speak to the Dr. at FM Emerg. to find out exactly what he was trying to prescribe on the 2nd one because what he wrote was something off the shelf that was unrelated and not what he discussed with my wife. In the end, it took a few minutes to prescribe 2 drugs that another Dr felt should never be used together, and worse, 1 contained the drug they discussed her being allergic too. She ended up with on the spot treatment with her regular Dr. and being referred to a specialist and losing a week of work and being down, in pain and miserable. Fortunately it improved in a little over 2 weeks and no further treatment was necessary. We don't know how much was caused by the bad combination of drugs and her being allergic to one. To add insult to injury, that experience was billed by the Hospital at about $1100. Against my wishes, she paid the nearly $200 bill we received after the insurance paid nearly $800. This is why I generally never recommend what I call "Doc in a Box" facilities as from my experiences, they are usually a revenue center for a mega corporation first and foremost. After this I will never recommend one again and I'll think twice about hospitals like Lewisville Med Center owned by large corps especially HCA. 2 strikes on them now. Forget about Obamacare, this kind of "care" and ridiculous billing game is our counties primary health care problem, not health insurance.

Very good emergency room care, but this is not an urgent care facility even though it is advertised as one. I was seen immediately and was ready to be discharged before the paperwork for registration was even completed. But I do wish I had realized it was not an urgent care facility before I incurred hundreds of dollars in costs (after insurance) for a relatively minor issue. It is a freestanding emergency room and charges the same rates as if you walked into the ER across the street at Texas Presbyterian. And just like any other ER, the physician will be charging me separately. If I ever have a true emergency would certainly consider them again, but will be sure to stick to true urgent care facilities in future for non--emergencies.

Had an amazing experience there!! My husbands shoulder popped out of place one day, being an athlete he attempted to put it back in place himself but couldn't. We got to the waiting room, checked in and within 3 minutes we were seen and the doctor was discussing options to put the shoulder back in place. Dr. Edwards, and the nurses Doug and Shannon are amazing!!! My husband HATES the doctors office but he actually felt at ease and that made my day a lot easier, thanks again to the amazing staff!

The office staff and nurses were wonderful - friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. But that doctor... Geez. We took my son in because he had a very high fever (103-105) that would not break - at least not for long. We had given Motrin, etc. and done luke-warm baths but in the middle of the night, he was miserable and we were getting scared. We saw the nurse right away and he was very reassuring and offered drinks, etc. to help him (and us) feel more comfortable. However, the doctor took her sweet time despite a notably empty and quiet facility. When we were finally able to see the doctor, she was highly dismissive saying that parents were overly worried about fevers, and that she didn't - and we shouldn't - even bother with thermometers. (Paraphrasing - 'My daughter is a teenager. Throughout her childhood I never used a thermometer and even though she had fevers, she turned out fine.') I couldn't believe what I was hearing! She actually said that fevers are either cool, warm, or hot and that parents could just tell "by feel". She went on to say that we shouldn't be so reactionary and quick to take them in to be seen. Unbelievable! When we left I asked my wife how she thought this "doctor" actually got her license. O.O Worse, when we took him to an urgent follow-up appointment with our regular family doctor that next morning (for a second, proper opinion), our doctor diagnosed the poor boy with an infection which was causing the fever! (It should be no surprise that he, too, was shocked at what we had been told by the other doctor.) I don't know that I would completely avoid this place because of one doctor - but I would suggest that if you get the same kind of treatment that you definitely post a review. Heck, maybe even do what I didn't have the presence of mind at the time to do: Report them to their medical board.
