I LOVE this place! All the staff in the office are always helpful and respond quickly if I have ever had a maintenance request. Which is rare, for my unit is Gorgeous. Any problem I have had has been my own fault. The maintenance department are always kind and respectful, and make me feel comfortable while they are in my home. My building is quiet, people are amazing, I feel safe. Never had any issues with noisy neighbors. If I absolutely had to complain about something, it would be the parking. Not much when it comes to guests; However I do love having my own parking spot, and I never have any issues people parking in my spot. I have been here now two years, and it is my home and feels like it! I would recommend checking this place out if you are on the hunt for a new home! I couldn't ask for more, except maybe another parking spot! And if that is the worst thing to complain about, I think they are doing pretty good.

I have lived in the same apartment for over a year now (bell terrace). The day I moved in my ceiling was coming down, my carpet had burn holes, one of my windows was broken, and I have a cement patch. Having signed a lease I couldn't back out so slowly they fixed it. My radiator was a rusted mess, a fire hazard, and I discovered my apartment flooded and caused molding. Which caused me and my dog to get sick. Then Cooper started getting bites on him, due to a ongoing bug problem we had. I had go and get all new furniture and was almost hospitalized due yo getting sick. Their problem solving idea was a dehumidifier. After 2 days of bleach cleaning, it finally was solved and winter came. My head constantly went out. When winter ended I discovered my ceiling falling down in my kitchen, bathroom and more areas in my loving room. My air conditioner has a huge gap letting in the air and more bugs. I have still not been able to get anything fixed since I moved in despite all complaints. So when time came to sign another lease, I asked if I could be moved to a differrny unit I was told yes I'll discuss it with the president of the company so I did. Now I've been screwed over many times, one of which includes me oweing them 87 dollars over a lie I was told about only being able to pay my rent online. After 3 times I was then made aware of a charge for "insufficient funds" which was a lie. I was then told I could still bring my rent in to pay it and that online was only an option. So me and my mother went down to the office and talked to the landlord and the president, which I was promised things would get solved, it's been a month and nothing has been done. Today I just had water flood my kitchen. And nothing is being done. I have complained and begged to be moved. With nothing. They constantly avoid my calls and refused to call me back. My current problems for those who don't know me is I have a restraining order on a guy. He currently still stalks me, and this being a secured building the door is to be shut. My neighbors leave the door open which causes a threat to safety as any one can just walk in. I don't know what to do anymore. If anyone knows anything that can help me please speak out as I am scared for safety and health. Thank you all for reading.

I am a criminal justice student at the DMACC Ankeny Campus and I lived in one of Metro's units for about 2 months. The employees are very rude, disrespectful and manipulative and love to twist things and make you out to be the bad guy rather than accept responsibility and try to fix the problem. My leasing, agent Jenna was very helpful in getting me approved and making sure I was able to rent the unit. Looking at what I know now and what I am experiencing I am very suspicious of her motives. The first lie I received was that they don't prorate the first month but instead the second and she verified this with her boss. I later found out that in my lease it says they prorate the first month. I smell a potential money scam. Had I moved when I was originally supposed to I doubt my rent would have ever been prorated. On 9/1/17 the day I was signing my lease I called MidAmerican to discover that a balance was owed on the unit and that notice of service termination had been sent to Metro. I notified Jenna who insisted that the power was still on and even grew hostile when I asserted that MidAmerican said that it was off. Due to having to prove that I wasn't living in the unit during the time the power was owed Jenna and property manager Lois Buchanan were trying to make sure the lease was signed even if I had to bring them the MidAmerican power information later. The entire time both swore up and down the power was on in the unit. Lois denied receiving any notice from MidAmerican. It took me having MidAmerican call Lois to get her to understand the situation and then we managed to get them to turn the power on the same day and both Lois and Jenna swore up and down they would make sure Metro took care of the after hours fee if I was charged it. Later, after the lease was signed, Lois would take this back and say she can't promise everything. None of the repairs indicated on my move-in inspection has been touched. Unsolicited repairs and alterations to my unit have been made. Maintenance closes out maintenance requests before completing them. Turning of the heat in the entire building was the solution they thought was acceptable to fix the issues with my unit. They claim they are waiting on a part to fix my heating system that was supposed to be in last Thursday. I have made it clear what the requirements to enter my unit are and that a 24 hours notice is required they tried to assert that putting in a maintenance request is the 24 hours notice and that it is in both my lease and "somewhere" in the law. Neither are true. They agreed to make an "exception" and call me 24 hours in advance before entering my unit and despite calling 24 hours in advance the maintenance guy showed up at the 21 1/2 hour mark expecting to be let into my unit. I just so happen to be home and told him he needed to come back in 1 1/2 hours (I meant 2 1/2 hours) and he said that all of his jobs were on the other side of town. I told him that he would have to renew the 24 hour notice if he wanted to come on another day and he told me to call the office and left. 24 hours is 24 hours if you want to access someones unit early call them and ask. Do not just show up and expect the tenant to let you in. I have officially sent them the pro se Abuse of Access Notice outlining the entry requirements and its obvious they were not happy. I called today because I came home to find that my hallway light on and wanted to know if someone had been in my apartment today, possibly they entered to finish the work on my heater, I mean that's where the control is. Lois was her usual lovely bundle of rage and anger. The only way you can even talk to her is to call during business hours as she wont return your calls. She flaunted about the fact that they are looking into evicting me. Retaliation? Its obvious. That's Metro's solution; get rid of those who are correct them. Evict the tenant before they sue. It would appear that Metro has an incompetent legal team that can only typically win by default. Vogt Enterprises (landlord) needs to know issues. Move-in pics shown. Not fixed

I have to say my experience with Metro has been very good from the initial leasing process and ongoing. I have lived in several different apartment communities through 3 different management companies. Metro has been the best to work with by far. I have had a few minor maintenance requests and they have all been handled quickly. I have lived in my current apartment for almost 2 years and plan on renewing.

Horrible management. Received a notice that I had to renew my lease and start paying utilities. It was dated for the 17th. I received it on the 25th. Had a broken refrigerator. They brought me a different broken refrigerator. Then I finally got a new one the next week. Do yourself a favor and don't rent from them.
