We feel that the quality of food, the portion size and the cleanliness of the restaurant has gone down in the past few years. When we first started going the place wasn't super popular and it was better, but as the tourists have found it, it's gotten worse. On our last visit, we were especially disappointed in the guacamole and even the rice and beans. We had shrimp tacos, soft shell, which were actually pretty good, but the cost for 3 was $12 with tax and there were probably three and a half medium sized shrimp total... It was a serious rip off and I did not enjoy paying my bill. We probably won't be going back to this restaurant, we used to love it, but now it's just not worth the money. By the way the smell next to the bathrooms is disgusting and the bathrooms are pretty disgusting... Hot, damp, and not clean. After going to the bathroom I didn't really enjoy going back to sit down and eat, feeling as if I brought a lot of the bathroom with me...ugh. I've been thinking about this review for a couple of days and I absolutely would not go back to Mi Mexico. I'm sure that some people think it's fine but we have access to really good Mexican food and this isn't it. Go to Taco Shack instead. You will spend less and get much, much better quality food. And please note that we've eaten at this restaurant many, many times, over many years and this isn't a review from someone who got mad at some issue at the restaurant and just wants to trash the place.

Love this place. We come here at least once every year we visit NSB. Great food nice people. And finally they have a liquor license. Yes at last a healthy margarita to go with a great meal 😊

My son loves Mexican food and would eat it every meal. We were visiting NSB and saw this place and decided to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good and service was very friendly. They were closing soon but were still very accommodating. The food is no frills and a little Americanized, but it’s exactly what my son wanted — and sometimes that’s what matters most. Chile verde was flavorful. Salsa was better than average. Great chips. Grilled chicken was seasoned well. Big bowl of cheese dip. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the area!

The owners are great but food and prices are amazing and it's got a great location. The fact of the matter is you can't go wrong if you want to sit down stretch out take a load off and have some great food

This is as good as Mexican food gets outside of Tijuana amazingly authentic flavored Mexican at a great price with great service nice Ambience With A well-stocked bar ordered hard shell beef tacos and a friend had the fried beef chimichanga both were excellent now that I know they are the real deal we'll dive into the deep end and get out of the kiddie pool next time around
