I've called upon this department twice with no help. First time around 10 years ago a guy drove off the road on purpose into an apartment parking lot 2 times in one night to ram my girlfriends car. I gave a statement and talked to the cop for an hour telling him who it was that did it. I called later the department said they had no record of it and hung up on me when I was mad about it. Then recently I went there because someone stole my social and used it to max out different accounts under my name. The dispatchers or whoever half listened to me and sent me to the computer to log a petty theft. I went back to the window and they said they would send someone to me. I sat for an hour when finally an officer took it upon themselves to find out why I was there and helped me. No one even told them. I was then told they couldn't do anything for me even though I had proof of who it was. Only good thing was the female cop that came to help me.

I had a non-emergency that I feel would have been inappropriate for 911 and i had a heck of a time trying to find a non-emergency number on the Middletown Police website. When I found it on the neighborhood watch page and was connected to a dispatcher, I was made to feel like i should have used 911. The unsafe situation involved a large dog running into the road and being too hostile to allow me to approach the door to let the owners know. I believe it would benefit everyone if Middletown Police let it be known more prominently that they have a number you can reach them in cases where there is no real emergency, but where the police are best suited to handle the situation. Or is it better to err on the side of caution and call 911 and let them connect you to a non-emergency line if they feel that is what you need? I believe this is a question many people would like answered as I was genuinely concerned about getting in some kind of trouble or being accused of misusing the 911 service.

Speed on sutphin is 25 yet constant 40+ speeds along with hotrodding. I witnessed many vehicles running at least 50 down my road (linden). Please in force speeds as if this continues someone will get killed. It's not if in this case it's when.
