Always a learning experience. Its a fun place from a cute date destination to family fun. There are lockers to put your items in..less than $1.00..no in and out. You pay when you open it. Tip...bring a lunch for family and sit in dining area to eat. The cafe can be pricey. There is a gift shop and candy store in Old Milwaukee area...check it out. The butterfly gardens is always a hit with my daughter. This is included with entry pay. There is knowledgeable staff that can give you history on items if you see one. There are restrooms and elevators. Parking on street can be tricky depending on when you visit or just use parking structure....they validate.

Didn't let us into the special exhibit until an hour and a half before they were closing (would have had 2.5 hours if they just let us in after paying). When we got in there were only like 6 people in there anyway... But the Maya exhibit was great, lots of interactive exhibits. Had to speed through and miss most of it though.

I love this museum. I specifically went to see the Weapons exhibit. Loved the addition of interns in the Weapons exhibit to questions and guide visitors within the exhibit. Pleased to see older exhibits being replaced or upgraded. During my visit the Streets of Old Milwaukee were decorated for Christmas. I was disappointed decorations were not historically appropriate. They had modern trimmings in garlands. Will return in February/March when the new Maya exhibit opens.

The Museum is a wonderland for your senses. It is a walk around the natural world, cultural world, antiquity, and so much more. It is a fantastic way to spend a day. Then return again and again discovering new ideas and thing you missed on previous trips here. A fun journey for all ages.

Always a fun time at the museum. Doesn't matter if you're with some kids or just looking for an afternoon activity, it's always worth the trip. There's always something new to see with the special exhibits. My personal favorite spot is the crossroads to civilization on the top floor. One can easily spend an entire day walking around the museum.
