Cottage vibe with good homestyle foods. Nice place to take Mom to lunch or dinner. Plus the staff is very attentive. Enjoy!

We recently came in to dine. Our party of 3 had over an hour for dinner when there were only around 3-5 tables occupied around the time of our arrival. 

A server came over and over got us started on drinks as we waited for our server. (I think our server was training a new hire?) Ultimately he took care of us more than anyone. He was kind enough to move us to another table because a couple was seated next to us and the man's cologne was so overwhelming I went to the bathroom because I thought I was going to get sick. (Fragrances can give me severe splitting headaches accompanied by nausea so I was very grateful for his help!)

After our drinks were nearing empty we finally had our order taken (about 15 minutes after arrival). We were never offered refills. After waiting nearly a half hour for food they brought a bread basket to the table and said that our food should be out any minute. After we waited over 40 minutes I finally got up and found a server and told her she needed to find our server because we needed to be cashed out have our food packed up to go if it was ready, otherwise just let me pay it because we needed to leave. We gave ourselves more than adequate time to eat dinner, and after being there almost an hour we still had nothing except for a drink that was now empty and a basket of complimentary bread which was now also empty.

The entire reason we went to dinner there was because our son won a complimentary dinner and he was very excited. I handed them the coupon and told them to cash me out so I could leave. The servers weren't apologetic at all. You'd be surprised what a little sympathy and honesty can do for business. I would have appreciated it much more if our server had fessed up about why it took to long. Did she forger to ring in our order? Did they have to remake something? If they had been upfront or even bothered to check on us I could have asked them when exactly our food would be ready and asked them to pack it up so we could leave. 

Somehow as soon as I went to the counter/bar demanding my bill, our food just *happened* to be "ready" and they boxed it up for us. 

They sent the manager out to talk to us. She didn't ask questions so I told her we had been waiting 50 minutes for our food (after ordering) and needed to pay and leave ASAP. She was kind enough to comp the bill for us.

While that was appreciated, I feel like the staff needs to be trained to address issues before they get to this point. With 4-5 servers in house (albeit 1 trainee) and maybe 8 tables (at the time of our departure) there's no reason why a table should have been forgotten and no reason for the kitchen to be in the weeds that bad.

The food, however, was delicious when we finally got to eat it! The kiddo ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and French fries which he enjoyed thoroughly in the car. We took home the half chicken and tasty pasta meals.
