I had two keys to copy, and it would only work for one of them. There was nothing special about the second key, it simply couldn't copy it. And you pay twice as much for "self serve" as you would having a professional do it. Would not recommend, unless you are desperate. The key worked, but it's not worth twice the going rate. Plus, then I had to go somewhere else to get the other key done. That's not convenient. Update: in an effort to make it right, the company contacted me, and agreed to refund my money for the one key there machine was able to make.
I am an IDA evacuee and I used the KeyHero service to send a digital key to my friend so they could enter my house while I was away. While it did eventually work, it was really hard to figure out how to send the digital key. The website only explains how to use a key sent to you, as does the kiosk. I had to ask a friendly customer who had just made a copy of his key, and stumbled upon the option to save a digital copy. In order to get the digital key you must make a hard copy of your key first, then it will prompt you to get your digital copy, which the kiosk sends in an email, which you can further email to other people. Not even store employees were aware of this service or how to do it. I would have given 5 stars because I did get my key sent, and that was wonderful in this desperate situation. But without the help of a customer who happened to be there i wouldn’t have been able to figure it out.
Not all the keys worked. Also one of the keys got stuck coming out of the machine. Over all the keys are brass keys and are cheaply made and don’t work.
