I brought my vehicle to Monroe Muffler Brake & Service on W. Genesee st. in Fairmount for a routine oil change; however, the so-called mechanic drained the pre-existing oil from my oil pan and never replaced it with new oil causing my $4,000.00 engine to cease up and blow. I later called them back to address this matter for some sort of compensation for their error and was given in return nothing but excuses, attitude, and even accusations that I was responsible for draining the oil out of my SUV in an attempt to scam the company for money. I will be taking them to small claims court. I write to only inform you all as readers to keep your vehicles as far away from the hands of Monroe mechanics as possible, but if you insist on using Monroe for service, enter with caution and NEVER take their word for gospel. Overlook their efforts before driving away!

Overly priced. Went for an inspection and when I refused to continue because they charge way too much for labor (I need a new bar placed for my brakes, which would have only been 220 with labor I would have been paying 600+) they immediately became nasty. They than wrote on my inspection report that I failed the inspection because I have tints on my front windows.... I dont! Needless to say I will never go back!

Just consistently low quality service. At my last visit they insisted that my car take the most expensive oil per factory warranty. He said they couldn't do any less or they'd void the warranty and refused to service. He showed me his book and the model listed was not my car - completely different engine! I tried to argue this but he wouldn't agree. After reluctantly settling for full synthetic he says to come back after 5000 miles, where even my car's manual says 8000, and my coupon for free wiper blades is only good for conventional oil. Go figure, never coming back here again. Had such a better experience with Valvoline up the road.

It's pretty average - exactly what you expect going into a Monro place. They are more or less expected to upsell you on anything. They were reasonably fast and reasonably priced.

STAY AWAY. YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED FOR INFERIOR PARTS!
