Overall great experince, however the Monte Carlo was under renovations when we stayed. Lack of restaurants. Our floor that we stayed on was poorly lit. Casino is fairly small compared to other hotels on the strip. Another group that stayed had some issues with their room not being cleaned. On a positive note Hotel staff was polite and extremely helpful, location of the Monte Carlo is centralized to casinos in the area. The Monte Carlo has the potential to be rated 5 stars if they improved on some areas of their casino and hotel.

As mentioned in many reviews, there is a lot of construction happening.  I have still enjoyed my stay here. The room was nice and the housekeeping was great. Due to construction, there are not a lot of hotel restaurants, but it’s Vegas - walk to the next casino and eat at one of the dozens of restaurants there.  I booked my trip here pretty last minute and got a good deal, so I would say that it was worth it to have a lower price.

Went to see Cher. She was excellent. Before the concert visited the bar in the casino close to the entrance of the concert. Waited to order a drink and watched as the bartender continued to wait on others around me. After 10 minutes we left. Once inside the venue we were able to order drinks with no issues and great customer service. Once the concert was over we immediately jumped in a cab and left; wasn't going to waste a dime here and will not come back. We stayed at the Venetian and experienced the best customer service our entire stay.

This place is not great. Let’s start with the few positives and work back...

The room is a good size and comfy, bed is fantastic. The bathroom is clean and the shower has great pressure and temperature. The however stunk of cigarettes and the air-conditioning was extremely drying. 

There is a lot of construction work going on at the moment and when I complained about it I was offered an upgrade! Great! Until they said I would have to pay for it! 

Finally, the room service. I ordered a club sandwich which arrived cold and in a plastic box. The classic club sandwich is a mark of a hotel if they can’t get that right, they are on to a loosing streak. 

Avoid this place if possible.

The Monte Carlo was a pleasure to stay at. From check in to check out we did not have any issues that would dissuade us from staying again. It is not like any of the larger hotel chains but the renovated room and location are great. The newly renovated pool area was enjoyable and the staff were great. The casino is almost at completion and was up and running over March break. We did not hear any renovations while we slept and it did not interfere with our stay in any way.
