The Museum of Science & History (MOSH) inspires the joy of lifelong learning by bringing to life the sciences and regional history.

Story

As Northeast Florida’s only science and history museum, there is no limit to what you can discover at MOSH!

Whatever your age or interest, there’s always something to see and explore across three levels of exciting exhibits. Indulge your imagination with an Extreme Science show in our JEA Science Theater or experience one of our daily Live Animal Encounter programs. Journey to outer space in our Bryan-Gooding Planetarium to explore distant galaxies with one of our daily Planetarium programs.

We encourage you to share your photos and videos of your visit to the Museum. You can tag us by using @MOSHjax. We review all comments and will remove any that are inappropriate or offensive. I've been with my at the time seventeen-year-old daughter and my six year old granddaughter and my husband on two occasions as there so much to see! Exhibits do change I really enjoyed the dinosaur out front when he was there you can have great picnics out back by the fountain and I do believe they have summer camps. Something next on my list I want to see some of the mosh after after-hours events. I love the Jacksonville through time exhibit as well it's a lovely story. Great vintage period items! I've also officiated a wedding here! 5/4/18!

While this museum is smaller than most, and geared more towards children, this senior thoroughly enjoyed her day there. The exhibits are wonderfully presented, and lots of interaction is encouraged, which was great fun for the children I saw there. I would definitely recommend a few hours at MOSH for young and old alike.

The MOSH museum is an interesting place to go. I would say that my favorite parts of the MOSH museum are the planetarium and the underwater animal exhibit. When I went, there was a historical section about Jacksonville which was interesting. There was also an area based on the gladiators. They have a small room filled with small amphibians in tanks for you to observe. Although this was a pretty nice museum, I moved here from a city who had a separate science center, natural history museum, local history museum, and art museum. MOSH museum is basically a combination of all of the above, but in smaller portions. The staff were nice and admission was fairly affordable. It’s a nice way to spend a few hours, but not big enough to spend more time than that.

MOSH was such an excellent venue to host and attend a yoga class! Lydel and her colleague were generous hosts and everything went swimmingly. The rooftop was a perfect space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the view. It was also really fun to walk through the museum on the way up to the class. Highly recommended!

So incredibly boring. Few exhibits which have all been around for years. The occasional change of exhibits on the second floor is hit or miss with being actually interesting for kids. I took my son there on day during the Letters from Anne Frank display. Interesting for adults but zero fun or interest from a 5 year old. The planetarium is nothing like it used to be with the old system. Now it’s just the same old sesame show. This place needs some major overhaul to become relevant again.
