Our stay at motel 6 Southport was awful. I wouldn't recommend it to nobody. One reason we booked it was because they are supposedly pet friendly, but that's a lie. They don't allow you to leave your pets alone in the room, someone has to be with them at all times. The whole reason we were there was it was spring break and it was a family vacation. The guy at the front desk was very rude about it. We were actually planning on staying another night and take our kids to the zoo the next day. Instead we had to switch hotels and luckily we found a great hotel downtown and moved there. They were very nice and let us check in early so we could still have time at the zoo with our kids. So motel 6 almost ruined our kids vacation! And we will probably never stay at another one.
Also the hotel looks nice in the pictures online! That's a lie. It's so dirty and smelled awful. If we hadn't already paid for the night and would have to move our kids and dogs we went ahead and stayed. But never again. Our room was still dirty. The floor was dirty, there was stuff wiped on the wall and the bathroom had inappropriate things drawn on the wall. 
So to sum it up, my family will never stay at another motel 6. It was that bad. I'll also make sure I let all of my friends and family know how bad it was and recommend that they stay elsewhere too.

Nice clean room.  King sized bed was super comfy.  The temperature of the room was perfect.  I liked that the tv was wall mounted.  We hooked up our DVD player and watched movies.  It was great.

Had an awesome stay here. My husband and I were in town from Ohio for a concert , so we only needed 1 night. The room was super clean and the staff was really friendly. We got to take advantage of the pool without anyone else in there! 

To the people complaining about minor stuff... if you want fancy, go to a Hilton. Motel 6 isn't know for being extravagant.

Very well priced hotel with friendly staff and very clean rooms. It's definitely one of the best hotels in this area. You will enjoy your stay.

Noisy rooms with hardwood (?) floors. Floors are not kept clean, made my feet dirty just walking on them.
No water pressure in shower. I could not even take a shower had to get out.
Short, thin bouncy bed.
Neighbors next door we're SUPER loud until past 11. Goes with the price I guess. I've had hotel rooms in West Virginia and Wisconsin for cheaper that were better.
